First off, I dont know if this is in the right section but i want to know how to tell if a truck is an sr5. im looking to buying a 1979 Toyota pickup. how can i tell if its a sr5 or not.
I had a 1979 SR5 and over a stardard truck it had Bucket Seats Center Console 5 Speed manual trans Tachometer 3 Spoke Steering wheel
If it has stripes an rpm gauge and ac and a 5 spd and cloth seats, I have one a 2wd long bed all stock no rust also an 88 model a plan one vinyl interior and seats here's a few pics of the sr5
Well, an early 1979 (build date starting 08/78) will not have a 17 digit VIN#. It will be a model# followed by the sequential production# (i.e. RN34 0000001). For the '79 SR5, you will find a 3-spoke urethane padded steering wheel, bucket seats, and a Tach in the middle of the instrument cluster and the others just like Red1979SR5 stated above..
