Does anyone know what the correct ohm resistance is on the EGR temp sensor. Mine is way outta spec registering at 238k ohms but I cant find anywhere online with the correct resistance specs. Need this info to figure out what size resistor i need to install in the temp sensor connector to by pass the CEL 71 code when i do my EGR removal.
Where is your thermo sensor located for the EGR? Are you sure it isn't for the Air Suction system? My manual only lists one for the AS....
Can you post a picture of it including the color of the harness connector? I can't find it in either of my manuals, and you've got me thinking.... I also have a constant check engine light, and this might be the fix for it.
shoots. i'll post one up after work today. I searched on yotatech and found a couple write ups but got mixed info on what size resistor to use. One guy said 10 ohm 10 watt another said 10k ohm. But IDK who to believe so I tested the resistance on my temp sensor just to see that its way way outta spec and attributing to my horrible gas milage. BTW the connector color on mine is grey
Did you find the the actual spec on the resistance, or are you just going by the other forum info? I'll look some more, I have one more resource.
The temp sensor must be a CA truck thing? I have taken all the emission stuff and EGR's off of every 22re I've touched in the last 10 years and have yet to throw a code for it. O2 sensors going bad throw the light on in an instant though not to mention the decreased mileage etc.
Yeah my truck is a cali model. I dont have the actual spec range couldnt find it online. And now my laptop **** the bed so im posting from my phone and cant figure out how to post pics.
From 1993 factory manual EGR Gas temp sensor resistance 69-89Kohm 122F 11-15Kohm 212F 2-4Kohm 302F Ian
-the EGR gas temp sensor is only for cali emissions. -bad temp sensor should not alter EGR operation, it's for monitoring EGR function so it can throw a CEL if it goes bad.
