Truck has only been on the road a month or so and my rear bag is tearing... Still holds air and whatknot. What do they offer for warranty and who do I call? Anybody else have this issue?
cal slam specialties, they will/should honor the fact its only been ridin on for a month and not rubbing anything. jus a defect, their rep seems great, so im sure they will jus replace it
So back from the dead... They warranty'd out the bags for me no problem... Now I'm having the same problem with the front bags. Just tearing the outter rubber along the baseplate. Still hold air and the whole 9. I don't get it... Seems like the outer rubber is just old and prone to cracking. So the mini is up on jackstands again... So frustrating.
Nope, probably not the case at all. As far as old rubber or anything.... I've had a couple bags do this, turns out I was stretching them past their spec'ed limit. In your pic, it looks like the bottom of the bag is stretched pretty far, which balloons the bottom of the bag and pushes it off of the bag plate more than it was designed for. Have you measured the height of the bags at full up? The front will be tricky because you have to account for the curve of the bag. It was recommended to me to limit the travel a bit, and I installed shocks on the rear after the first set of them were replaced. Hasn't been a problem since.
From what I've been told it's just rubber to make it look good an it'll be fine I've talked to guys in my club tht have had bags like tht for years. My f150s bags looked like tht
This site has some rear bags for an 84 toyota has anyone had experience with these. This site does'nt sell bags for the front any suggestions. I look for price and quality & 2g's to bag is not in my bugget. thankshttp://www.truckspring.com/suspension-parts/helper-springs/air-spring-kits/air-lift/slam-air-59102.aspx
Wat site? There isn't a front bag or a rear bag. Only difference is size some run the same all the way around some run a 2500 up front an 2600 in back.
I forgot to add the site--it's there now. I did'nt know the bags where the same for the frt. & rear. The person @ this site told me they don't make a frt. that's why I ask the question. thankshttp://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=7896
Not over extending them at all. The truck never sees anything near full lift. Since I replaced the rears I haven't had the problem return. And the new rear set have been on the truck longer than the first two I had warrantyed. If you look at the old bags the rubber looks kind of dry compared to the new ones they sent me... I know it sounds crazy.
