Title says it all. Came across a really clean 91 4x4 manual with a bad head gasket and a rattle in the bottom end, have several 22r engines. What will work and what wont.
    Motor mounts the same?
    Transmission bolt up?
    Problems?

wont even come close to bolting up. like said above the mounts are different, but so is the wiring and ecu, the trans/transfer case, drive shaft, and everything else related to those parts.
your best bet is to either find another 3.0 or better yet do a 3.4 swap.

I did say 22r not re and did assume the harness was a no go. I was more wondering if the mounts were the same. Looks like it might need a chevy V8.
    Thanks for the response.

Yeah, much simpler before all the computer ****! I really think the 350 carb, turbo 350 tranny and NP205 is the way I will roll, but being the toyota purist I am, I would have rather put the 22r then another 3.slow!

I really want to put a small block into it but I honestly wish the damn thing would have came with a 22re. I have a 90 that came with a 7mge and I don't feel like deeling with any of it lol. I basicly want to spend all my time making it look pretty and hardly any time making it run lol

My issue is I have a bunch of Lt1's sitting around, like 2 454 big block blocks, and a few other motors, but I want to just slap in an old 350 small block. You can put a carn on the new small block lt1's but the gasket set for them is insane..Idk. Lol. I guess I'll see how it branches out once I actually get my cab and everything off the frame and start all my frame work. (notch, traditional bd, pocketing the bag mounts, z-ing frame, etc) But I need to put in a new tranny crossmember and motor mounts. All will be supported by bushings.

Wish I had this "issue" I wouldn't have asked about installing a 22r!

Hahah. Not even lieing I have like..3 already still put together, and one is just the block, then I have two 454 big blocks, and a motor in the trailer that is out of a bonnevile but I can't remember what the exact name is. 6 cylinder though. I also have a Yamaha r6 motor I'm trying to get rid of. Low miles I just have no use for it.

Should be economical enough dang thing is light enough, plus you wouldn't have to run premium like a toyota engine- should offset the difference

My 97 fullsize chevy has a 454, I run regular unleaded, it's fuil injected even, and still gets 6 to the gallon. Like I said, no thank you Hahah I'll stick with a 350
