I bought this 1994 Toyota Pickup and it needed alot of work. The bag setup was done descent but everything else was pretty much just thrown together quick. I am going to take the cab off because the cab was Traditional body dropped and I am going to stock floor body drop the new cab. I got a brand new 4 runner front clip waiting to put the truck back together. All new lights, Grill ETC. I am basically rebuilding this truck. using the fiberglassed dash pad and doors only from whats on the truck right now.. The rest will be new. My search for a clean rust free box in minnesota is still going and it really isnt working for me! So that will keep on the look out...... Its bodied on 17s now, it will be bodied on 20s when I finish it... Slowly but surely and making sure I do everything right this time like the previous owner didnt.

    Complete plans will be

    12 Gallon Air Tank
    3 Viar 450 Compressors w/ hard lines
Completely sand blast the frame and repaint it electric blue.
    4'' Cowl Hood
Body is going to be painted House of Kolor Black Metallic
Suspension arms, Air tank, 4 link, Steering box and rear axel will be painted Silver.
Find a bed and fully shave it with a working tail gate
Black 20'' wheels w/ same color blue lip as the frame
    Black headlights/corner/bumper lights

Trucks going to be my daily driver so I am going to make sure everything is done exactly how it needs to be and that I will be able to drive it 4-5 hours at a time if I needed to. Thanks for looking!

Nice. I partial to keeping the 2wd fenders. But your plans sound good.

Thanks for the comments. Appreciate em.

The truck right now is a major hack job. I cant deny that, The part fitment, body lines everything is out of whack. The truck had to much going for it to just let it rot apart. I am going to completely tare it apart down to frame and fix the stuff as I go. The motor and transmission are super strong! Air ride all works I just need to fix all the previous owners hack jobs. Soon enough I hope to have a Toyota people will respect.

I was curious, Does anyone have a picture of a 99 front end on this body style? I badly wanna do it just to change the look of it.

As far as the interior, Dash was fiberglassed, Door panels where tweed w/ flames in them, and a custom center console built w/ 2 10's to fit. The new interior is going to be totally different and I am gonna worry about that once I have the truck back together and running/driving..

Thinking of going w/ a older ford dash.... 50-60s, Then possibly a metal center console w/ switch box built in... Havent even begun ideas of that so far, Slowly thinking up what I am gonna do frame wise. Thanks for the comments,Gives me some motivation :waytogo:

There is a member that did the swap on his truck. I can not find it. It was a 89-94 with the 99 front grill and lights I believe. I will search for it a little later.

The bucket seats I am not sure what they came from. They where in there when I got it.

The reason I am rebuilding this truck completely... I am in school for metal fabrication and I got a buddy going for Automotive, One for autobody and my girls in school for business management. If you see where I am going with this were all working towards our own shop in a year or two out of school. I'd like to build this truck so people get an idea of what I am capable of. Take a basket case and turn it around and rebuild it. Another reason why, It had potential.

I am going full 99 Front Clip and now that I seen that I may switch to that style bed too... I'll have to check it out... Does anyone know if the 99 Front bolts right onto the truck as is?? If so thats going to save me a **** ton of work and its gonna look a hell of alot better on there.... I cant wait to start updating this page w/ pics and stuff of the progress as I get going! Thanks for checking it out and keep checking back to see more updates!

i hear ya on the hack job rebuild.... and mine wasn't body dropped. whoever built mine first didn't do well in math class for sure. used mix n match bolts everywhere, even used a washing machine leg to hold the transmission in place. i couldn't even begin to explain all the details of how bad its been, but so far i've been incredibly lucky and my rebuild has been giong very smooth, so i wish the same for you man. looks sick so far bet it'll be even doper when its done.

    Thanks bro. Appreciate it.

Small update. Today I found a rust free box, Picked up my cab and all my new sheetmetal, valance, front bumper for the 1998 Tacoma front clip swap. I got something in mind for the 98 Front end so this all flows... Consider it a complete rebuild. This trucks gonna be a completely different truck in a few months... The cab will be the same traditional until winter when I swap my cabs when I do a stock floor body drop..... Gonna be sick for sure. With all the parts I have gotten it really breathed new life into me with this project!! I'll have new pictures of it up soon!
