Well hi there! I am discovering ways to lay out on 20 inch rims (now that I have a set). It isn't that hard with Cando arms and such. But adding a body drop to the equation seems to require more changes and careful planning. Seeing as I don't live in a beautiful 12 month summer-type location, leaving the wheels untubbed and open is not an option. So I have been searching for pics of bd'd toys on 20's. Found this: http://www.streetsource.com/forum/9...a-with-20s-w-35-series-rubber-impossible.html And if anyone has any tips and tricks about doing this please post. So far I am guessing with 20's 35series tire I can body drop my 92 extra cab about 3 inches max. This is without changing the hood (no hood supports though).
how much body drop do you need to lay rockers? i'd measure but you got one of the few body styles i don't lol
There was one guy he had his bodied but it was to the pinch on 20s. Another guy did his to the rocker but he raised his fenders
mine was bodied on 20's but the tires basically touched the hood and the camber was the only reason it cleared the stock fenders. There would be no way to run tubs because of the booster, hood and fender clearences. ill post pics in a few, they are on my photobucket and im at work. the last pic the friggin ground was unlevel when i laid out. it did lay flat though edit: oh to make it lay it was cando arms, conventional bodydrop, recessed clutch master, 30 series tires, custom clutch pedal, firewall tubs, had to bend the egr temp sensor cause it was hittig the hood, z'd frame, and the usual stuff with a conventional....
No way thts your old truck!?? I love that truck almost bought it actually an it's what made me want an ex cab
yep thats my lil blue. bought it off some guy in AZ, it was ****ed up. barely ran, the suspension broke on my way home, i made it 2 miles from where i picked it up. took it to a friend in AZ and got it road worth in a night, then drove it to san diego revived it, drove it to some shows and sold it. its bright orange now, with some fugly interior. I almost bought it again, but decided to go another route. I LOVED that truck...should never of sold it
ya i think i got a few more at home on my pc, but im at work for awhile. thanks for the props on the truck, its nice to hear i got something right once in a while. hopefully this helps the op out fingureing out his rim and tire combo for his bd
Dude I would love to see more pics of it probably one of my favorite yotas bar none finished or not just so sikk. I was gonna buy it when it was orange for like $4000 but I didn't sell my Mazda in time
Thanks for the pics. Those add to the pics in my link so I have a pretty good image of how it will turn out.
i woulda never sold that truck! bagged trucks are hard to do and get here.. so many bullsh!t laws! i cant wait to buy another xtra cab and begin a bagged n body dropped lux
im currently working on a 92 regular cab yota stock floor bodydrop on 20s and its layin rocker with no pinch
It hasn't been THAT long since this thread was active. I figured I would post some pics. I just kinda stumbled across this thread again.... No bd yet but here it is: I completely tore out the hood support and it is now a very wobbly hood when I open it. I did tub it even though the brakes booster is still in the original location. The clutch is under the dashboard. I figure a 2.5 inch body drop is still achievable. But not if I z the front of the frame. My clutch setup idea is from the minitruckinweb.com bd write up. Here are some pics of it. I recently got it to work properly. I had used too thin of metal and so it would flex and bend when I tried to push down on the clutch pedal. It takes quite a bit of force to push in that cylinder piston!
Anybody have specs on those rims on the blue truck. Like brand and offset. They look like boss but not sure. Thanks for any info
