Lookin to git a tow rig. Trying to keep it under $12 G's. Dont want DSL trucks (hate the maintnence costs of them) Got a few here to consider.

Back story: Lately been hitting up tons of shows. Real sick of towing it or waiting for someone else to show up with a trailer so Ima buy my own rig and trailer. Dont want to put the miles on my mini either so out of state shows this will help greatly. Not concerned with mileage so much just getting the job done. Like I said up above got a few options but if you guys think or KNOW something is better state your opinion. LIKE I SAID NO DSL TRUCKS!!

    ALMOST FORGOT PICS

    f250 FTW!!!!

the front suspensions are all the same on the GM products you have there and they all fall apart, the 250 is ment to tow and does real well at it.

plus i wouldnt tow with the rims on the escalade or the 01, they dont look strong enough.

and im a GM guy, just to show ya how little faith i have in those trucks towing.

I think the Ford would be the best option. Like its mentioned above, its meant for towing.

All the GM's have towing packages with aftermarket tranny coolers over the stock ones. The Escalade and Burb also come with factory wheels. I know the Burb can do the trick. The Ford is a sick rig though. Not much a big truck guy but I posted this poll and such to get peoples opinions and I appreciate both of yours.

ive got a 5.7 new model tundra that pulls awesome.... but out of your i had a 3/4 ton 2500 and that truck pulled good.. It had a 6.0 or 6.1 and pulled really good too.. I would get something with that motor

I say get the escalade but the f250 would be your best bet for a tow rig.

Does anything else matter to you, like leg space, comforts(GPS), being able to haul **** like a tent, coolers, spare parts, etc, etc?

Out of those i would choose the ford. We have a F350 at work, 4dr long bed and we tow a 10k lb chipper around with it. Pulls it no problem.

I work on alot of F250's....

They are great trucks. The DSL ones with anything but a 7.3 blow a$$, but the gas trucks are real troopers. A customer has one (like a 99, 5.4) and it has WELL over 250K on the clock.

But if your going to buy one, order a set of rear door handles and put them on the front. People can break into the front doors way to easy.

Umm and people like stealing Eddie Baurer/King ranch interiors and the front clips off of those trucks. So yea.:waytogo:

So test drives, Tahoe is a fkin pile. Escalade needs new tint on rear windows, power mirrors dont work and the service light is on for the air ride. Suburban is decent, made noise while turning but it was hella low on fluid. Carfax says its pass/fail/pass/fail emmissions for last 3 years ???????

Ford is sick, sounds tough, runs like a champ, smooth but has 206,000 miles on it. Gonna look at another Ford tomorrow and a Excursion.

Well didnt get anything mentioned above. Got me a 03 Avalanche Z71. Has tow package with shift kit. I will install trans cooler. Rated to tow 8000lbs so this should be enough trailer and mini only weigh a bit under 5000lbs. Has indash touchscreen monitor, nav, ipod, headrest tv's, all amps for mids and subs (previous owner took subs and door speakers left everything else). Has a intake not sure what kind but this thing sounds supercharged when you get on it. Has 18's with Nitto Dune grapplers. I'll get more pics later its at dealership getting all the recall stuff taken care of cause the tech who certified it wrote it off as complete when it wasnt (he got fired).

Not worried about mileage thats why I bought the Avalanche so far about 14 in town... My 350Z got 13 in town and I used 94 Octane at $4 a gallon for 3 years so not worried bout it.
