i just got back from my local u pull it yard looking for some stuff for my 86......they have all the trucks in one giant section, approx 5,000 trucks. well i walked every aisle, the only toyota truck in there is a 89 4 runner that was picked clean. i went there for seats and some interior trim, i ended up getting a pair of buckets out of a 89 nissan pathfinder, there must have been 100 of those there. is this shortage of parts trucks all over or is this just a pennsylvania thing? headed to one of the other huge yards next week, wish me luck lol.
Got a handfull here, finally got one of the yard guys to agree to call me when something new shows up so I can gert first dibs, told him Id kick him a few bucks everytime he did.
Foreign trucks are dissed hard in WI. Something about the fact that so many GMs were built close by. people that worked at the GM plants that drove non american cars had to park in a lot far away from the building while everyone else got to park in the close lot. People here simply don't buy them so there are never any in the junkyards. I pretty much have to buy everything new. I have yet to buy a single item for my current truck from a junkyard.
Pre 95 model trucks are getting more difficult to find here in my state too lol...there all in Cali!!
yup, its all regional....... more likely you'll find bunch of furd's n' chevies' out there....... but then again as ou go further inland the domestics are more popular.
there was no shortage of foreign trucks, just toyotas......that's what i found odd.......there must have been 200 nissans in there......scored a set of bucket seats out of a pathfinder for 15 bucks come to think of it, i was down in alabama in march and a friend took me to his local pull a part and there was only one toyota truck there.......well i hope there are some kind people here on the left coast willing to harvest and ship unobtanium parts.
were is the best place in cail to get some yota parts im thinking about going on the hunt this weekend. i live in fullerton is this helps. sorry to thread
was having my fun here stripping all the cash for clunkers 85-89 lincoln town cars and harvesting gt40 intakes from 5.0 exploders
Both of my trips back to colorado I stopped at the Pick a parts. sweet jesus glory hath me!! Got/seen lots of good stuff back there... In Houston, its hard to come across a parts truck. Not impossible. But maybe see a pre 84 like once every 3-4 months. And I keep track of whats in my yards. I blame it on the popularity of an economical and reliable work truck, to those south of the border. Plus what right minded TEXAN would drive a toyota.
