Does anyone here have the torque specs for the 7.5" 3rd member, Caps, Pinion nut and those little bolt's that hold them adjustment nuts ? Sorry for my English.. I'm from Iceland,, and I hope you can read this ! Best Regards. Kris !
Bearing caps 70 ft/pd, adjustment lock bolts, good and snug with a drop of blue loctite, pinion, depends? do you have a crush sleeve or a solid sleeve, if its a solid sleeve, 150 ft/pd , if its a crush sleeve, no torque spec, as its tightened until the correct preload is set.
Thanks Nook ! I was windering if you had pictures of these sleeves, so I could identify what is in my 3rd member, it's mostly stock so it must have chrush sleeve,,, are they reusable ? Best regards Kris,
No sorry, I don't have any pictures handy, the solid sleeve looks like a barrel shape solid cast piece machined flat on the ends, the crush sleeve looks like a piece of exhaust pipe thats flattened so it has a fat bulge in the center. The solid sleeves are reuseable and more preferred by the 4x4 guys, the crush type normally aren't reused unless you are not changing the preload or only tightening them more to increase preload.
