you don't have to chop the rear window. after i chopped mine i regretted shorting the window. if you make the proper cuts you can drop the full size window. it will just take up that couple of inches in between the bed and the stock rear window. it also make the chop less noticable.

no, tempered glass has been heat treated by cooling it in a way that the inside of the glass pushes out, and the outside pushes in making it very hard and stable, till you hit an edge, that's the weakness.
If you sand to much it will pop, and if you try and cut it, it interrupts the pressure balance and it will pop.No way at all to change the size of a tempered part.

. . . knowing that price is a downfall, if you dont want a lexan rear window, cantcha just make a template and have one made?! I order tempered glass alote, but its mainly for flat surfaces, none with slight or curved surfaces . . .

rear glass is actually a fairly easy fix .. the reg cab window is much smaller , and I could actually put in a new rear wall to accomadate the smaller glass ..

it's the side windows that are the problem for me .. I have checked into having some custom made .. and they want 400.00 ea. so .. I just might go that route .

sorry , not trying to "scoop" your post ..

when i put on the 06 frontend the sheetmetal will be raised to clear the tires. then the hood will fit fine. i was originally thinking 02 tacoma, but then i seen a few with the conversion started. so 06 it is.

hopefully i won't have to build a truck this low again (unless i'm getting paid to do it) its a pain in the ass. i bought it bagged and planned to do a back half and clean it up. then the parents went thru a divorce and i didn't want my little brother getting screwed up and into the wrong stuff. so i made a deal that if he worked on it, it is his. the ideas started flying and now i'm up to my ears in work. i'm actually starting to feel like stuff is coming together, just need more money to finish it.

yeah he's learning alot, he's 16 and learning how to weld in school, he has already passed flat, horizontal, vertical (up), and overhead with stick and mig. i'm going to teach him how to tig soon. i have to work on a mustang this weekend (replace torn part of floorpan, subframe connectors, rollcage, torque box reinforcements) and if i get it done i'm going to drag my yota in and make it a shortbed.

    this is my yota
