Hello everybody, my name's Kurt, I'm 26, and live in good ol' Massachusetts.
I do not currently own a Toyota truck, but I really want one, which is my reason for being here. :D
I have been lurking for a while and figured I'd join, and get in on the action, hopefully finding the right truck in the FS section.

I find myself needing a truck more and more often, and nothing out there appeals to me quite like an old Toyota pickup.
For anyone interested, I would like a late 70's to early 90's 2wd std cab 5spd pickup. I would really like a longbed, I missed out on one not too long ago, but I won't be picky. The range is far enough and I just want something cool that I plan to lower and use to haul stuff around.

I've been into Toyota's for as long as I can remember, my first car was an 88 MR2 with t-tops and I loved that car, it was short lived as the trans blew and I ended up selling it for what I had into it, which was good at the time, but looking back, it was a bad move. Sadly, no pics of said car. But it was Super Pink II

That led me to my next car a year or so later, which was a 1990 Supra Turbo, as the name suggests. That car got me through a few years until I lost my license, inevitable, I know. I kept it, and to keep me from losing my license again (which happened again anyway), I completely disassembled the car. It still sits in this state, awaiting revival.

I bought some Subaru's to keep me safe and legal, and found a clean 94 Legacy Ti in my area, the Ti is a special trim basically, that has painted door handles and body color grille as well as some other stuff. I paid too much for it, but it has gotten me through the past 5 years incident free, and for that, I can't complain.

Then, I bought another 1990 Supra Turbo, this one a targa with only 90k on it! I was in love. Even though it is Super Pink II as well, ****'ll buff out.
I'm spending way too much on the car, and need to hold back, but I love it and can't help myself!

Anyway, that's all for now I think. Sorry if it is a bit long winded. haha!

Thanks, guys! I receive a lot of mixed reviews on the Subaru, mostly people just ask why. Haha... I decided to do it like that because I'd never seen anything done to those besides 16s and a mild drop.

The Supra is quite modded, and I will make a thread about it shortly, so keep an eye out for that.

As for the pickup, drop, wide wheels, a 7M, w58, and lsd are already the plan! :D

Sounds like a sexy truck you have planned. Any specific year range you prefer?

Yeah it seems like they are hard to find on the east coast compared to the west. They are all over here you just get to pick and choose.

I'm willing to drive for a decent one, all the ones out here are rustbuckets, being that this is the "rust belt"... I've been looking on searchtempest within 250 miles of MA, and also ebay pretty much anywhere. If I know it'll make it home, I'm willing to fly out and drive back. It's a good way to get to know the truck.

My year range is '77-early 90's, so I'm pretty flexible on what I want. Ideally I want a late 70's as I love the round headlights and rolled bed rails, but they're all good to me in that range.
Dion: Here it is, currently, pic was taken at the end of last year.
I thought it would look good parked next to a customer's truck at work, Chevy 3500 on 22.5 Alcoa's and 6" lift. lol

The coilovers at full low in the front, about 1" to spare in the rear, sadly. I may take one of the collars off and get it down another .5"-.75"
This Subaru is for sale if you can think of anyone interested. It's got 195k on it, and it's the best example out there I think. Gets plenty of looks, too! I want $3k, but I'll negotiate, especially for a clean pickup!

Thanks Mike! 7MGTE MKII is definitely on my list. Perfect combo, light chassis, torque monster.
Mine is currently maftpro speed density with 550s and a 60 trim CT26. haven't driven it with this setup yet but its getting close!

Thanks David! Seems like a cool place, I like the attitude here so far!
