I just had new cylinder head and a valve adjustment done on my 93 pickup,22re engine. I had the radiator rodded out, new thermastat, and all new hoses. There is some stubborn oily residue circulating in my engine, from when the head gasket first blew, that I keep trying to flush out myself, ( tan color ). Anyway problem is after driving around town, I remove my radiator cap to check water, and water on top part of radiator is always gone ! , all the way to the inside grill lines of the radiator ! It dont take much water to fill up again, but I dont want to warp my new cylinder heads. What the hell is wrong ...??? The water pump is 11 months old.. Someone out there must have the answer.... Engine runs strong and temperature is normal, no overheating.

The coolant is probably mostly in the block.

The heater has to be on wide open and the radiator cap has to be open so your radiator burps out excess air and rechecked for additional water after driving it around till normal temperature kicks in.
