Anyone know of a good short throw shift kit for a 91 22re? This is an area I admittedly have never done much research into so I'm not sure which brands/names are going to be better.

You can also run the shifter arm from celica or corolla with top loading trans. Sticks are generally interchangable. I have a shortened chrome car one in my truck. Love it.

I'm assuming your referring about a true short shifter. Which narrow the distance that it take to shift from one gear to another. Not necessarily the length of the shifting arm. I paid almost 300. for mine that goes in my supra, but its hand made. When I finally do my W58 swap, I'll have the stock supra shifter which is shorter, but not a short shifter.

Yes I was talking about a short throw shifter. I ordered the one from LC engineering. It should be here in 7 to 10 days.

Its all in what term of short you mean. By having a shorter arm it does increase leverage and shorten distances. The LC kit still has a long arm although it doesn't move very far. I like the shorter look. Plus, it's just how I like it...cheap lol

Just remove the boot and theres a couple bolts holding it in. Simple swap. Just make sure the ball is the same size, if not might be little to loose or might have to shave it down a bit.

Watch out for those little washers when you remove the Shifter, they are a b**ch. If you drop them inside the trans!

Seriously is one of the easiest mods to do. After you take your shift boot off there are 6, 10mm bolts. Undo the 6 bolts, take out the whole arm assembly, take old shift arm out of the shift housing (you just push it down and twist), put the new one in (push and twist the other way), put the spacer then the shift arm assembly back on with the 6 new bolts that came with the kit, VWALA! Short throw installed!
