Hey guys, anyone in the Portland / Vancouver area that has a Weber on thier 20R or 22R? I am tearing into my truck tomorrow and I was going to start putting my 22R together. Wanted to test out a theory I have that my Weber clone is just a POS. I can't get it to idle below 1000rpm when it's warmed up and I've gone thru it 3-4 times. Seems like it's got a vacuum leak, but it could be the head too. Before I spend $200+ on a new Weber, I want to make sure the one I have is the issue.

Basically all i want to do is swap one on, see how it runs, then swap back. Don't need to change any settings, I have gaskets and all that. I have a bunch of parts I can give to someone for the trouble, or just a couple beers. Whatever, I just have had bad luck buying things for this truck and wanna be sure I'm not wasting money. That's happened a LOT with it.

Anyway, PM me or email me at fallen100@yahoo dot com if you're down.

I'd help ya out if i was closer bro. You may want to check out your adapter plates if you've got the standard 2 piece crap the kits always have. I've had nothing but issues and leaks and noises from mine. Carb is good, adapter sucks. Transdapt and/or Hedman Headers make an adapter thats a cast 1 piece design. Part number 2120 for the 20r to weber DGV. I'm sure there is one for the 22r manifold as well.

part number for the 22 r to weber adapter is 2181. 2184 is for the larger holley 350/500/650 on 22r intake.

I've actually checked the adapter, plus I have some killer make a gasket material I use that works great. I narrowed the issues down to either the engine itself or the carb. I know the engine isn't in great shape, but the carb has always been a pain. Just didn't want to transfer a problem from one engine to another.
