I'm new to the site and don't know if this is the correct section for this question. I have and 85 truck with a 22r engine and am trying to get everything to work on the truck. It has cruise control but it does not work and trying to see if i can make it work. Anyone out there know if that is possible, it has the box with some small knobs under the hood for it but it doesn't turn on with the switch on the inside. Any advice would be appreciated.
The box with small knobs under the hood sounds like it might be an aftermarket unit, and its hard to say what type or style of operation it might be, could be electronic and works off the speed sensor, could be a vacuum servo and operates off a driveline magnet setup, or from a tach signal, so theres a lot of possibilites, best to check fuses, then trace wires and or vacuum lines to see if everything looks to be connected, and if possible look for a manufacturer name and search for install instructions for the unit.
