Hey peoples I'm jason. So I've had some financial issues the last couple years and found myself car-less. I'm at work one day and a guy comes in looking to sell a truck for 200 bux... me n by boss go check it out. It barrely idles, brakes ..kinda.. work, he says it maxes at about 40mph... but he said the magic words "smog exempt"! (I'm in CA) So me n my boss talked him down to 50 bux and a set of lowering shackles for a Chevy p/u. And I finally had to ask him what the heck a hilux is. I had know idea these things even existed.

I rebuilt the carb (with help) n tuned it, set the timing (was like 20 degrees off) through some fuel additive in and BOOM this bad boys runnin 70+ mph yay haha. still need to do the brakes. the driver front is leaking from the cylinders and is not working at all (yikes) and I've gotta plump brakes to build pressure to stop.. this is why I'm calling my truck death wish. Cuz you must have one if your driving it haha

Anyway I've browsed these forums a while now and since I bolted on a set of 3" lowering blocks in the rear I just can't stop thinking about what else I can do to it... I'm super excited about this truck! Which is wierd cuz I'm a ford... car... guy... anyhoo just wanted to say hi and maybe pick some brains if it comes time I stick a 302 I've got in this lil bugger!

P.s. ill work on getting some pics up its got a sweet rattle can job you will be jelous of ma skillz haha j/k

I've bought a carb rebuild kit, one tire still need 3 more... and a new master cylinder and all the wheel cylinders. I get all the brake parts at cost through my shop so I've only spent about 300 and as soon as i actually do the brakes up it should be a decent cruiser.

I was reading about the ball joint flip, can that be done on these years or just the newer ones? I haven't gotten under and looked... I work a lot...
