Question guys, Since I'm stuck here in Tokyo for the next couple mouths, I figured I might as well try and find some killer wheels for my pickup build that I havn't even started yet.

anyways. has anyone mapped out what the lowest and highest offsets can be achieved with the 89-94 pickups? Any width wheel would be fine, I can calculate wheel offsets and sizes fairly easily.

If not, this might be a great writeup project for someone to do. I'd be willing to help as much as I could, I've got plenty of experience but I don't know any of the measurements in the wheel wells of the truck so, I can only function as a brain right now. I can however write a excel calculator or VB program to help let people know how much space they would have say...between the fender, and suspension, or frame....If I had measurements to go off of.

+20/30 ~8" wide wheels. Try to find similar numbers. Anything high positive will hit the inside.. you dont want that.

I have +40 20x8.5s and they don't hit inside (other than inner fenders which is expected). I am also running 2" Belltech drop spindles. I am not sure if that makes a difference.

I know you didnt ask me but Ive imported 100's of parts from Japan and I can say off the top of my head a tranny on a flate crate boated from Japan would cost about $700-$800 if you want it flown over the ocean then tack another $300. So Id say a grand is reasonable for a tranny no matter what its from so if your sources are cheaper than this Id say deal. Now if your source is an importer they are making money on you cause a half box or full box (40ft container) only costs $2800 to ship loaded to the gills thats how most these ebay companies make bank is cause they bring over 300 engines at a time.

@ Dillinja666 - I'm not sure where I'm moving to yet, but if its anywhere in the SW region, I'll throw one into the container I'm bringing back. its not like an R154 is going to be hard to get rid of if for some reason you couldn't pick it up.

I can find some pretty killer wheels in 17x8+10 or 18x8+10! I've found some other wheels in the 17x8+30 that would look pretty good to I think, maybe even better in a 17x9+30 but we'll see?
