i have been messing around with my intake set up 4 awhile..... i had a off brand intake pipe set up was to big rubbing on my power stering not clearing some areas ect.... then i went back to stock tubing with a afm adpator and a cone filter.... still kinda like what ever... i know some people do the afm and battery swap or just make a custom pipe or even get all crazy and do other custom stuff...just wanted to see whats out there (pics if you got) and here some suggestions ect.
The tube is from Weapon-R,the silicone hose is from Hose Techniques ,the air box I custom made & use a K&N reverse cone filter. Draws air from inside fender,& from air feed from behind the bumper @ the radiator core & bottom of air box.
MAN! thats hella custom!!!! so the pipes are not custom? where do get them from? you reversed the whole thing ( meaning changing the afm and the battery location) great work!!!! dont think i can get close to that keep em coming folks...
Thank you!! A lot of custom stuff & the LC Pro Street EFI under the hood = $$$$ And like posted the tubes I got from Weapon -R, $100 for the two,cut one to fit as needed. They sell their filter & tube for a bit more. And I'm not impressed with their filter. A K&N is the best there is!! The tubes are powdered coated red,& that's what I wanted, you may be able to find some 3" aluminum tube & polish it out!Try a big rig supplier!! The hose connectors can be used to make your bends!
TRUCK ACTION I see that you live in cali, have you even been hassled by cops or smog guys about your air box? Once a while ago driving down the freeway I lost both tps screws. While I was on the side of the road trying to ghetto tape it back on I had a cop pull behind me. I see cops open rice burners hoods all the time. I have never been asked to pop the hood of my truck but this time it was already open. I literally watched the cops jaw drop when he looked under my hood and saw chrome and performance parts on a old ass half primer pickup. He asked me for the CARB e.o #'s for the aftermarket parts and then proceeded to look them ALL up. I personally have all legal parts so it wasn't a problem, but if I didn't I would have gotten a big ass ticket and a trip to the smog referee to have my truck gone over with a fine tooth comb.
The engine is smog legal, the headers have a carb #,& the air box is closed & draws air from outside the engine bay,so all is good with smog checks. Passes the visual & test! No problems with cops, though coming home from a show, I was pulled over by the CHP,coming though Oakland on High Way 24 this summer. He wanted to know if I was running NOS ( thought the air tank was a NOS tank). Said thats illegal on any import car or truck. I would have to see this in writing, not that I run it! He also did wanted to look under the hood?? After seeing all the work & asking if I built it( yes/all), he was very cool. First & only time this has happened, think because of all the street racing in that city!! Us old guys don't get hassled as much, unless we're don't something crazy!!
woot, seems strict too some guys out here have nos tanks thatll sit in the back seat of a stang or camaro. they run it on the track of course.
stang or camaro,I know this stuff is run on a lot of trucks & cars. But as I posted ,the CHP said illegal on imports, cars & trucks! I never checked into it ,as does not apply!
if they see a nitrous bottle on an import they automatically associate you with street racing, thats why its illegal in their eyes i'm pretty sure its only illegal to have the bottle open on public streets
My guess, just another example of " profiling "; just assume they have something wrong. Kinda like just assume the guy with the lowrider/mini is a drug dealer/dirtbag. . . I could go on . . . but . . . Gary thats one trick box, love it. Ide have to agree with the K & N filters as well, they are so nice. Im trying to remember who fabbed the custom intake for the Weber carbed mini either on yotascene.com or here, I cant find the post, it was very nice as well . . .
bleh, profiling... Vietnamese Teenager plus red toyota pickup, im sure the parents picking up their kids will really profile me for driving that truck lol! i heard the truck is a teenager's truck, dont understand why yet. probably cheap and good mileage?
Passes smog no problems, just smoged last week, new test on the charcoal canister & tank! No hassles, through last year got pulled over coming through Oakland from a show on the coast. CHP wanted to know if I was running NOS, because of the air tank, asked to look under the hood, than when asked if I built all myself ( answer yes) was very cool! Though he said he thought there had to be something illegal with the truck! I told him not! He said the tail light height maybe ,& I told him tell me where there are be & I'd set the truck @ that height,he liked that!
