    Hello everyone,

I've been surfin the web looking for info on building a mini yota and found this forum. I currently don't have a truck yet, and I'm just trying to get a feel for how realistic the truck build I have in my mind actually is. I'm not new to tuning, but am new to the idea of building a mini truck even though I've wanted to build one since I was 15yrs old (1994). I've been building cars for a over a decade, and have a ton of experience with other Toyotas, Nissans, Merc, Honda, and Subarus. I probably won't post much for now, I'll mainly be reading up on what others have posted as to not repost questions that have probably been answered a thousand times over the years people have been building mini yotas. I'll be sure to post up pics when I do pick up a truck though. I'd like to build a 92-94 extra cab, so if anyone might know of one that might come to sale soon, I'm interested, just so long as its manual. If its already lowered, thats a plus. but it has to be clean. thats one of my rules when building any car, or truck. It has to be clean. If anyone's interested, I don't mind throwing up some pics of my other current cars/suv, but I'm not trying to just show off what I have just for the sake of it.

Currently I own a 2002 IS300, 1999 Impreza STi V5 RA, 2004 Pathfinder, and a 2004 R6. All have been built to a point, some more then others.

well, I'm off to search the forum.

    Cheers.

    Jon

Gorgeous cars! We are always interested in seeing pictures. Feel free to ask questions. Everyone has answered the same question a few times and they are probably willing to do it again. If not we can point you to threads that have the info in them.

I would but after reading your intro again I noticed you said clean then saw your pics of your other rides so kinda seems like your more show and go then build a project so I dont think my 94 would be CLEAN enough for you. Gots some seat tears and a flat black paint job BUT full rebuilt engine etc etc etc. Also seats are easy to swap in these things. I used to be the same way! Took my $30 nissan Z and added added added hahaha

    For fun

I'm from Kansas City Mo, but lived in Seattle for a good 7 yrs, then 3 years ago I moved to Tokyo Japan, where I still am now until Oct of this year. Hence why you see some of my cars with State side license plates, some with Japanese. The Lexus I actually brought to Japan to have all the work done to it here, and will be bringing it back with me. So I'll have the IS300, the bike, and the pathy, but will probably want 2 more vehicles..most likely a 94 yota mini, and a 1st gen Impreza to swap all the parts in from my JDM impreza here.

I almost didn't type it out, I wasn't sure of the types of peoples here but you got to test the waters out some way.

Actually thats not too bad. Seats I'm not worried about, I have a few sets of Recaro seats here that I'm bringing back with all my other car parts so they arnt a big deal. The flat black isn't a concern either. The R6 I painted myself...in my back yard! I of coarse took it to a rent a booth to shoot the clear, but I don't mind repainting something. like I said, I've been building cars for almost 15 yrs now, I've picked up painting, air brushing, mig/tig welding, using a hand lathe along with using CAD programs and plasma cuters. heres some pics of my painting days before I moved here.

This MR2 was white before I got my hands on it, mixed some Porsche Colbolt blue up, threw in a V6 from a Camery, got it running, and sold it 6 days later...I kind or regret it, but I can do it again someday.

I should of took more when I painted the bike, didn't really think of it at the time.

Eurofreak - When I said clean, I should of specified. what I don't want is a truck bed thats been hacked up. if its been C notched, then I'd hope the bed would of been modified to still be usable. What I don't want to get into is Airbags, or Hydro's. I'll probably end up doing a simple 3 or 4" drop, throw on some 18's, give it a clean paintjob, drop in some good seats, possibly do a twin turbo V6 or a 1JZ-GTE or 7M-GTE swap since I've have experience with either of those engines....and call it a day, minus some of the details...but thats bascially what I'm looking to build. I still need it to be functional, since I've got a number of other people that want me to do projects for them when/If I move back to Seattle, so its got to be something usable.

Yes, q45 projectors in the low beams, and BMW E55 bi-xenon projectors in the high beams (low beam functions as fogs)

I just did a quick search for those seats, and I didn't find any. I did however find the recaro seat rails for 89-95 Toyota Surf (4-runner). I might have to pick up those rails, that would make a seat swap that much easier.
