I want a gun. Coulda had 2 fully auto ak47s with wood stock and sh*t I believe def not legal in cali anymore but I couldn't cause we have no gun case at my brothers an he has 2 kids so I said no.
I sold my S&W .44 a while back. Have some .223 rifles. Have some friends with AR15s, fun to shoot, but I like my rifles better. My great grandmother was a professional skeet shooter. My grandpa has all of her shot guns. One is an engraved anniversary edition (forget brand) with ducks and stuff engraved into the handle and barrel, its really cool. He has about 100 badges she won at events too, and some magazine articles about her. Its cool I think. He goes out of state a lot, and always brings me back ammo he buys really cheap. He has some .22s that are fun to shoot, and an ungodly amount of ammo for them too. I also have an original Crossman rifle BB gun, the real wood and metal one. Its honestly almost as fun as a .223 rifle. Its old and accurate. Also have a Crossman pellet gun thats fun to play with. Looks just like a S&W .45.
Anyone got experience with a Marlin 795 semi auto 22. Went to the gun store and checked out a couple guns and like this one better then the Henery. The Henery just plain looks like a toy, is a lever, and i dont like the sights. Anywho the Marlin seems like a very popular gun. Also like the weight but wanted to know if anyone had first hand experience.
oahu, I paid 150 for my mossberg plinkster, its a .22 semi auto, fun and cheap to shoot.. if your gunna spend 3 to 4oo on a gun why get a 22 ?
The Henery is $399 here. That plus lever and everything just turned me away from it. The Marlin is $150 so a better price and seems like a better gun. I never really shot before and this is more of a first gun purchase so im going with a 22, something simple and easy to learn the fundamentals as well as cheap ammo. Learn the right way on a smaller gun and so its easier to transition to another gun. I never really wanted to spend that much but was just keeping a open budget so as not to limit myself. Im pretty set on the Marlin. Got a gun show today im gonna check out so we shall see how that goes. Thanks V8 for your reply
You should pick up a Ruger 10/22. They are the most popular, highest selling and have more aftermarket parts for them than any other gun made.
Oh V8 also gotta remember im in Oahu so prices are completely different. Evo, yeah i been researching and noticed theres a lot of mods for it. Do you have one or shot one? Any feedback? One thing i noticed when checking out guns is that the Rugar is a lot heavier, didnt really like that, although i dunno how much of a overall difference it will make. Down here its also a bit more, in the $250-$275 range I believe.
Ruger 10/22 vary in prices. the cheapest is the carbine, its about $200. I have one thats modified and its awesome, never fails and is easy to clean. The first thing you want to buy is a buffer, you can get them on ebay for ten bucks.
I ended up just grabbing the Marlin last night. That and a box of high velovity winchester hollow points. Came out $155. Its a nice gun, easy to use. Will probably test it out next weekend and get it sighted in, still have to register it. The rugar just wasnt working out for me. You got a link to that buffer you talking about?
The one i was referring of is for the Rugers. I'm not sure if they make an improved buffer for your marlin, but the buffers in mine are plastic. Definitely better than the Rugers steel one. The marlin isn't very popular modified rifle. It's more like a standard starter rifle. I really don't pull my semi auto marlins apart because of the amount of tiny parts inside of them. I more less qtip them with hoppes, blow them out with co2 and then soak them with rem oil.
Good point but I dont want to clean grey matter or guts off my walls. Mine is loaded with bags then salt, then buck. Sometimes them crackheads wont stay down, however I like to give people the chance to spend time in jail if it came to it. Got 2 more toys today at the gun show. Bought my wife a Walther P22, came with rails so we can add a laser. Got a Jiminez 9mm as well for kerplunkin. I like the quality of these guns, Its not a glock or S&M but way better than Hi point or Davis industries.
Perhaps but in Idaho even in self defense in a home invasion it would still be considered murder if the culprit was un-armed. Lame but hey kinda the same thing if you got a swimming pool and its fenced and posted with signs but someone jumps your back fence and falls in and drowns its still the homeowners fault. We kinda got some lame backwards laws over here
