these are virgin door panels, no holes were cut out. that's why i took the stock speaker boxes that came in the truck as well. they may not seem like much but those boxes with some good speakers will sound really good. to bad the truck was auto, the floor shift console would have been a good swap if it was a manual trans.
correct, every single door panel I have ever seen that has a hole cut out was after market. From factory I have never seen 89-95 pic up door panels with speaker inserts.
Well actually it was yesterday but I Went from a 2inch block to a 3 inch block and loosened the torsions up front. Then I loosened the torsions on my friends truck, we put his 3inch blocks on the day before
This came in... Yeah, it is a cheapie, but it will work until I can get a nice Momo or Sparco unit... Just waiting for the hub adapter and quick release to come in. Should give me a little more room to move my legs around, seeing as it has about 1.5-2 inches less of a diameter. The adapter and quick release should be thick enough to move it towards me a little more, which will also help with that. Also, rewired the power wires for the compressors. Also, rewired the pressure switch. I think it is time for a slightly higher cut off pressure switch since this one cuts off at 160-165 psi, and the system is built around a 200 psi limit. I'm thinking 185-190 off should work best.
Well, pressure switch failed. It stuck in the on position, and the tank WAY overfilled. In an attempt to bleed the system down to a safe level, I opened the rear bag dump valves and then opened the fill valves for all four to try to let it all dump out of the rear dumps. Unfortunately, it dumps slower than it fills, so I have either blown both front bags, or the lines going to both front bags. It is too dark to see now, but I'm hoping that I just blew the line loose a little... But hey, at least I got my steering wheel installed... :/
You SHOULD swap in the tilt, it's very easy. Plus since it's an SR5 you will have intermitant wipers then as well. Plugs right in and works.
Went back to the yard and they had butchered the interior already. electrical was cut, tilt was torn apart. these trucks don't last, and i was only there 4 hours since they opened. lol
Yeah they don't last long here either. Nice find on those cherry SR5 door panels. You should have grabbed that console - you can buy the front section for a manual transmission from Toyota brand new for $60
Which yard do you go to (im in corona too)? How much were the door panels. I have the basic ones, so how hard would it be to swap
went to hillside off the 60, panels were 50 for both, not counting all the time i have spent searching for them since I had my other tuck, lol. if they would tell you when the trucks were coming in, it would be ezer to get, but I have been there and people rip them apart to get to other parts of the truck. so most are ripped to shreds.
I go to that one frequently, I also go to the pick-a-part on miliken. I have never thought to look for the door panels, but I like how it turned out on yours.
its a hit and miss with finding a set, in good shape. i have seen them with the tops ripped off or the grab handle broken off or other missing parts. and if you find one, get it, and just wait till you get the other. where in corona are you? im off of Magnolia and the 15
Im off limonite and the 15, its actually Eastvale but im used to saying corona. I may have to start looking. What did the panels come off of? I usually see 4runners at the yards and I know miliken pickapart is having a half price sale this weekend.
Miliken has no toyota parts I just went, Hesperia is having the 50% off sale this weekend and they have parts. I did a scouting run this past weekend. I'm going Sat in the morning to get the rest of my A/c parts. these came off of a SR5 2wd ext cab. There were trucks up at Hesperia but the interiors were gutted. and the 4 runners don't fit, but the best thing you can do is go pull the panels and walk over to a truck and test fit them before you buy, and see how short they are.
Got the engine in and it started right up- no issues. Took it out for the first fishing trip last week and heading out again today. Now to start looking for new bucket seat to replace the Celica/Supras I have in there now.
