Head unit- Kenwood excelon x494 (4-volt output)

Subs- 2-10 inch Kenwood excelons kfc-xw1000F flats subs

Compents/coaxials- Memphis audio 6.5 (which will soon be kenwood) in the doors

    Rear Amp- Kenwood 8105d

    Front amp- Kenwood 150w

    Sub box- made from scratch

This is something I've wanted for sometime now. Luckly, I have a friend that owns a car audio shop. (Soundwaves car audio in memphis, Tn) and I helped him as much as I could. I'm no pro, So I let him handle it. I had a few people tell me it was impossible to do 10 inch subs without losing leg room. I lost less than an inch. I'm very Impressed with the sound. I'm not bragging I'm just letting you guys know That it is possible.

This truck is in the works of a total make-over. Its dirty as hell too! Thanks for checking this out.

Yeah how much cubes and whats the tuning of the box? Is it ported, looks sealed in the pictures?
Nice. My philosophy is build for yourself, cause your the one that has to listen to it.

My biggest thing was, I'm 6' tall and 225 lbs. I need to save all the leg room I can!

the box itself is actually 2 boxes, made of 1/2'' mdf, with a single piece of 5/8'' mdf for a solid front. We had to do that to get it to fit up aginst the rear wall. Its a sealed box, the recomended air space for the subs are 0.6 cu. ft. I'm just a hair under that! I'm very im pressed with them. Thank you all for the comments. It just sucks kniowing I will be pulling it all out to put carpet/painting in the truck!

Yes they are.. But I'm not a fan of memphis car audio, At all!! It's not that crisp and clear to me. I live in memphis and know some of the reps for the company. I'm just not a fan of them! Plus, I want it all matching!

Understandable, I'm the same way. But I got a good deal on my stuff so my HU is Alpine, amps are Rockford, and speakers and subs are JL.

But I also agree with a buddy of mine that did my install. Every brand excels in certain things.

Yup 2 tens can be put in the single cabs cab.

I have somewhere in my notebook an old drawing i made for 4-10" subs for a my single cab, 2 amps on top and a toyo logo in the middle. sadly i never got around to doing the set up. it was individually divided box at .75cu ft per sub. it took up the entire rear section and it was not cut thru to the bed.

Yikes, you'd have to be loosing a ton of leg room to build that box, 3 cubes!! I had a tough time building a 1 cube fiberglass/mdf box, but thats without moving the seats and I was compensating for sub displacement.

Yeah, kinda curious of the dimensions of that box, 3 cu ft sounds like alot for a std cab. My bedbox isn't even 3 cu ft. What subs were you planning on using?

You kidding me! If it's a solid rear window, you can have that out in a matter of seconds with no sound at all!
