i have been working on my toyota pickup and i have done everything i can think of to get it to lay out but i still like about an inch. And now my lower a-arms are sitting on the ground and i have cut all i can off of them. I know it is only an inch but i want it to be laid out. I only have 18's. So how am i seeing everyone elses completely laid out and i cant get mine that way????

How are ur control arms on the ground? No wheels?

To get it to lay flat u need to Z the front clip.

the lower a arms are hitting where the tortions bars use to mount. and yes it has wheels on it while it is doing this.

what exactly do you mean about z'ing the frame how would you go about this and exactly where at?

sounds like you don't have drop spindles. if you don't, then you'll need to pie cut the upper control arms to get it down that last amount.

i have already pie cut the upper control arms because i don't have drop spindles. I was hoping not to use any yet just incase i want to go up in tire size later.

    you'll have to flip them.

i had my 86 layed on a 225/40/18 with flipped ball joints on stock spindles. the uppers weren't pie cut, and they were maxed out.

My friend has an 86 yota like mine, it's laying frame, on 18's, stock bj positions, no Z, stock arms, stock spindles. I have 19's on mine and i'm about .5-1 inch from laying and i know if i had 18's mine would probably lay out too, i have a upper and lower bj flip (see my build thread) Also i can take pics of my friends truck showing its all stock components and laying frame.
