Post smog weber conversion

    hey i have been reading and hearing that a weber conversion on a truck that has the smog crap on it is harder. is this true? and what would i neeed to do to make it easy. im going to a weber soon cuz my carb is all jacked up....i dont wanna run into any problems.

    You should be exempt from smog testing in WA if this is the '80 in your details. Remove the smog stuff. Do a bit of searching.

    I don't know if there is an exact 'how-to' document, but there is a lot of information regarding removing smog components. Maybe we should get a gathering of some of us guys in WA to make a full 'how-to' doc on this? I am going to eventually delete all my smog stuff after I get my Weber rebuilt and ready to slap on my pickup.

    Thats the reason i bought an 83 so i can delete all my smog crapp.....if switching to a weber your can elimante alot of smog i believe all you need for the weber to function is Fuel..choke...and a vacum line to the manifold i believe thats all.... someone correct me if im wrong

    i would love some more info. if anyone has done it to an 80 let me know what you did. i will keep looking around for more info. thanks for the replies so far and let me know on the getting together thing. i live in selah, wa.

    the only lines that go to a weber carb are the fuel line, the line from the distributor to a vacuum port for your advance, and a line for electric choke. All other vacuum lines (except brake booster) can be gotten rid of once you switch to your weber and you do a desmog. I did mine while i did my motor refresh....got rid of the egr system and air pump.

    When you have two lines running from the distributor, where does the second vacuum line go?

    I have a 84' toy ,and want to put a weber on it to,but wondering about passing smog,,i live in california, so this smog test sucks.anybody ever did this carb and pass smog in cali? thanks!
