1992 toyota pick up 22R-E 4x4 136,000 miles. I did the diagnostic wire jump where it flashes you the lights. and i got ......................................... 13-PRM or RPM signal 27-sub O2 sensor 52- knock sensor signal ......................................... So my problem is some times ill be going down the road and the check engine light comes on and the truck loses like all of its power, cant make it up a hill or any thing. So if i just shut the truck off and on quick the power come back and the light goes away for like 5-20 mins then comes right back on. What should i do. And what do all of those mean ?^^^^^
I do recomend a tachometer to help diagnose the RPM problem, I put one in my 94 and i have never once regretted it. Do you have a Chiltons/Hayes book on it?
13-PRM or RPM signal= check ignition system, coil, distributor, wires etc. 27-sub O2 sensor = more than likely 02 sensor 52- knock sensor signal = could be knock sensor, connection from knock sensor to ECU or ECU itself get yourself a repair manual and download the factory service manual..here is the link Toyota Tacoma/ 4Runner/ Tundra/ FJ Cruiser Factory Service Manual Page and another 4x4Wire's TrailTalk Forums: Online Factory Service Manual good luck!
I had the 02 code as well, replaced the 02 sensor which was original from 91 and code disappeared..I would also recommend signing up over at yotatech.com that site has been around longer so there is tons of info over there on repairs
