ok so i've been do n some research and seen ppl with static dropped trucks that r also bodied but i can't seem to find ne yotas that way. and b4 every1 gets into it i understand bout tha turning problems and what can happen with bodyn it b4 baggin it but if u do ur research and know what wheel ur using u can do everything right and when its bagged then it'll b bodied. ne ways my main ? is does ne body have ne pics or links to pics of a static and bodied yota? theyd b appreciated. thanks!
man its badass. i've jus seen some fullsize chevys and s10s and i'm a 100% bout bags but this **** looks sick man!
I'm going to do a 1" body drop, linking the rear and Z'ing the frame all done static. Bags just don't lend themselves to great handling without a lot of shock and sway bar tuning so I'm going with coilovers.
well if u find some pics or if u can get pics of any trucks like this pleAse post i would like to see it
There was a build thread on here or yotascene can't remember but the guy did I sfbd on a static dropped older yota
Well if you think about it thats how all the old hot rodders did it. Back in the 40's and 50's bags and juice didnt exsist. Seems like it would be kind of old school,
Here is a pic I took in the late 80s, early 90s. Nobody had bagged minis then. Check out those Hammer pants!
is that thing jus static and body dropped? Static drop and Stock floor body drop? My 85 bd'd static daily - S-10 Forum theres some links i've found to sum pics so far
Aaaahhh...I remember those days. Kinda miss those days, when you had to drive around bumps cause you couldn't lift it and scraped sometimes just goin down the street.
A larger part of the reason static'd chevys do it is because their frames hang a lot lower than a yota. My dodge has about 3" of frame below pinch, and my hilux has about 1/2".
You are wrong about bagged trucks/cars not handling! If done correctly they handle!! Air Ride Technologies shows this all the time on auto cross courses. And my truck handles extremely well, I take on & off ramps @ 70 to 80 all the time.
I was gong to do this about 3 or so months ago and called a couple of shops to see what it would cost and they told me they wont do it unless there baggin it. They also said they had never heard of anyone doing this just for a static drop. Someone do it on here, I think it looks bad a$$.
I believe this is the first static and body dropped truck done by Bob Grant and Steve Nielson in 1995bagged soon after. Copied this picture from Google images but the whole story of the truck is in, I think Oct 2010 of M/T'n Toy Blazer on the cover.
Here is the article for that story but there is not very much information about the body drop. 1982 Toyota Pickup - Grant Kustoms Toy Blazer - Twisted Metal - Mini Truckin' Magazine I am interested in a SFBD with a static drop. I am guessing i would have to tub the wheel wells and cut up the tranny hump anyways right?
