Nice shots Alex. Thanks for all your help. Anyone that needs help on their truck I recommend that you go to SD Yota's drive way.
What type of rear end did you have in the Lo lux and it sux to see it crashed. And glad to see you back what are the plans for the lolux and the white one?
thanks for the kind words man. i had the 4 speed rear end in it. its a 8" rear with 3:07 gears in it. came on all the 4 speed trucks.
Same setup nothing new. Cranked torsions with no bump stops and drop blocks in the rear. DJM drop control arms will be installed soon.
Did any of you cut out your fenders in the front? If so, it bad to drive it like that in the rain? Im tired of the rubbing and i dont have the funds right now to get my shocks and drop spendles plus smaller tires.
when he pulled the bumpstops the inners rubbed...... i didnt know he still had em on. given the new offset he also rubbed the rear inners.... had him pull all the plastics and trimmed the front ones half way up on the back and placed the new trimmed panels back on to hide the pinch weld lines... keeps the fender well looking clean and keeps most of the junk out of the front of the door jam. plastic fender wells are the first thing i pull off the trucks if they still have them when i lower the trucks.
Those plastic fender things won't last long if you plan to drop in the first place. and yes, removal of bumpstops will allow the suspension to travel to the top and rub. i trimmed the top part of the stops that stick out so it allowed a fraction more travel, but still stop it so the tires don't grab my truck and lock up or anything of the such. If you have significantly smaller tire size...... You probably won't need to cut the inner fenders out. I run 26" tires, factory size, soooooooooooooooooo I just gotta live with it. I don't rub that often, only full lock and hard bumps at speed.
haha! line it up man........ i got a little (although not by much) time on my hands......... lets get it done!!! find yourself a front clip truck we can use as a donor and we will get your 82 going!
