From all my research, it looks like I'm getting extensive blow by caused by worn piston rings and creating enough pressure to blow oil out my valve cover breather. I did a compression test and I got 150-155 on all four cylinders. I did a wet test and got 180-185 on all four cylinders. My question is do I need to pull the whole engine out to change the rings? or can I change them with the block still in the engine bay. I just want to solve the blow by problem and the oil blowing out the breather. Not looking for a complete overhaul. Any other tips would help me alot.

If you can get the oil pan off then you can pull the pistons without removing the engine.
The head will need to come off, I,m sure you know that already.
    Good luck.

150psi seems like that should be alright. These engines usually breath pretty good though. If you have your heart set on new rings you'll have to pull the engine. If it's a 22re do your self a favor and unplug the harness from the computer and feed it through the fire wall and pull it with the engine. While you have the head off make sure to put in new valve seal. If you lap the valves it will up your compression also.

Your compression is still fine. I'd save the ring job until your ready for a full rebuild and pull the motor to save yourself some neck and back aches as mentioned earlier....

Do you have the PCV valve hooked up?

My motor blows oil thru the breather aswell because i don't have the PCV valve connected. That's what I get for running dual sidedraft carbs.... I'd rather wipe the oil off my valve cover every now and then, than to go back to the stock carb tho... :D
