Alright so my stock exhaust rusted out today and broke at the flange:confused: (saw this coming just didnt know when it would actually break:eek:)
Well im looking to get just go ahead and put an exhaust on now and wait on other little projects aka finish my interior.
The sound im looking to get is quiet but with a little rumble

What would get me closest to that sound
    cat + glass pack
    cat + Magnaflow
    NO cat + Stock Muffler

I notice that cat+glass pack is popular i've just never really heard one:eek:

    cat + glass pack= loud
cat + Magnaflow= if you get one bigger then 40 series, like 50 or 60 it might be the sound your looking for.
    NO cat + Stock Muffler=:puke:

I think you mean Flowmaster with the 40, 50 and 60 series? I don't think Magnaflow does that.

I had a cat and a Magnaflow. It sounded good, but it was loud and popped on decel. Had 2.25" exhaust. When I do ti again, I will probably use 2" with a cat and a Borla, and I might put a small resonator (like MBRP or Vibrant, nice ones) in between the two to quiet it down. My truck was loud all the time, it was cool when I was 16. Now I like the way my Audi is, cats and two mufflers in line (super turbo and Borla), and its very quiet cruising around, and very loud when I get on it. I'd like to replicate that with my truck.

yea I used to own a stealth that was too loud. i couldn't go anywhere without setting off a car alarm i like that my truck was quiet so i think im just going to go with cats and a little bit of an upgraded sound Plus at this point im more worried about my gas mileage and how it looks low slow and quiet

I have a 2"x18" resonator and a Magnaflow Super Turbo with 2" pipe the whole way out. Sounds better and makes noticably more torque than my old similar 2 1/4" setup with a regular turbo muffler.
    Oh, no cat.

I just put the tri-y header, 2 1/4" pipe, 24" glasspack and flowmaster knockoff from my big truck on my wifes truck. It sounds really good at all rpms. Nice little burble at idle and cruise but it gets a real nice throat to it above 4k.

I have factory manifold and front pipe, gutted cat, 2.25" and Magnaflow offset to offset. It's deep, and I can still talk to my passenger.

I highly recommend not gutting your cat and use a magnaflow and try to install a resonator to clean up the sound.

    1. Keep the cat just in case for legality issues.
    2. Removing the cat will just make it louder to the point you'll just be like, meh, why'd i even do that?

If you're gonna go to a muffler shop they may be inclined to go cheap and easy i.e. crush bent tubing
Nothing wrong with this but I'd ask to go at least 2 1/4
and whatever special Turbo muffler they have.

I have a Lexus resonator in place of the cat, I'm amazed how much of a diff this made.
