i just picked up a 79 from a buddy that owns a tow yard for 250 bucks. i got it cuz it reminded me of my very first truck, a 85 Toyota. i had so much fun it that thing!! but it was stolen! so when i saw this one i HAD to have it!!!

my plans are to bagg it and body drop it, just like seths,(twised minis)
but i dont know what color to paint it yet.

some hillbillys owned it before and f'ed a lot of stuff up. so it needs a new hood and tailgate and maybe a drivers door. and some wiring tore out and put back to stock.

Great find . . . Things I like the most - Color ( perfect or not ) - hood scoop ( for some reason ) - The conversion bumper look ( 84 - 88 2wd ) - Dog paw prints on the roof ( are there savage dogs around? ) and the fact that even if you do nothing with it and nickel and dime the parts out, youll make every pennie back PLUS MORE, super find man . . . Keep us posted with plans and mods as they unfold . . .

 

put some draglites on that and paint for now that will look really sweet!

 

lol yeah there was savage dogs around. i was wondering about the front bumper, it looked to new but fit great. the hood makes me laugh a little but its going!! im going to the junkyards today to see what i can find.

lol trade me your hood! idk what year the bumper is from??? but i got stuck to day in my parents yard and bent up the valance under the bumper . stupid one tire fire!!!

i got it running like a champ today, but it looks like the carb sits pretty high of the intake?? idk what filter will fit?

lol....NO way...i have way to much time in my hood to sell it. it was chipped up very badly.
if you want, ill take my air cleaner off and take a pic....if you sell me the scoop....lol

The stock air filter has a pocket under it that the carb sits in,it fits down around it.

 

ok when i get a new hood ill take the scoop off and let you know.

 

Looks to me like there is a spacer under the carb kinda like the one that came with my webber, but it all fits under my stock hood with the breather they sent with it.

 

ya that spacer isnt stock.

the stock one is only .5in thick and more like a plate. made out of some kinda black plastic.

i got a few lying around if ya want one.

 

also thought i would mention that i have a TON of single window door glass and regulators. even have some straight doors.
