The first Toyota pick-up, sold in the U.S. was a Land Cruiser pickup, which Toyota only offered for sale in 1963. Toyota's second pickup truck was the "Stout", a small half-ton truck introduced in 1964. This is your rare opportunity to purchase a piece of Toyota History, before it is release to the public auction websites: Please, see attached photos. Please, contact me for any further information, additional pictures, or to set an appointment to view the pick-up. So he buy it to flip it or something I thought he wanted to make it like the one from Japan??? Im confused. SCAM??? Guess I'll stop thinking about it kinda givin me a headache and im outta advil.
i doubt it's a scam. he bought a truck and was obviously wary about the purchase. now he wants to pass it along to someone else to enjoy. it's not like he posted a price that is twice the amount that he paid. he also has this ride that he posted on minitruckinweb.. maybe the datsun takes priority can't blame him if it does.. it's wicked! lol
I did just buy it. My original plan was to Japanize it, but priorities change. When I bought it I thought I had paid too much, but once I got the truck, I saw it's in such great condition I realized I definately under paid. I guaranteed you can't find another one like this anywhere in the USA for sale. I thought if I can flip it, since I don't have the heart to chop it up, I'll have $ to put in my other projects like the Datsun posted above (Bad ASS) or my 68 Mustang w/ a 347 stroker... BTW, don't forget about transport cost and other misc expense I had. Also, you can't blame me for trying to make a few buck in this economy, huh?.
I just don't think that its the best investment. You would have been better off with a 30s - 50s barn find. The market for Japanese classics is pretty small. If your original intention was to own it because you wanted it, then it makes sense....but to buy this as an investment to resell isn't the most sound plan. As I said in my post when you 1st bought it, it's worth what you paid if owning a classic Toyota is what you were after. Most people here buy these trucks because they want them, and cost isn't related to value really. I have $8000 into my 94 and it's still not worth anymore than the $3500 I paid for it. I knew that going in and really don't care because I am not doing any of it for the money. It is a nice find but I just don't think you are going to make much profit on it.
You shouldn't under estimate your own truck... FYI, I already got offered $6000 for my "Stout", and I think I can get more a little more from the right person. Remember, I didn't get it to make a profit, but I'm not just gonna give it away either. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity truck.
It's not that I am underestimating...I won't ever sell this truck. My family will after I am gone and will probably pretty much give it away. The point is I absolutely did NOT buy it expecting any dollar value out of it. Like you probably don't put a $ value on your Datsun.
Trade How about a trade for my 84 Buick Riviera T Type?.....check it out... 1984 Buick Riviera T Type Low Mileage
