Anything is possible, if you have the skills.

you could source one from a junkyard.. the cable length/ends would be the biggest issues that first come to mind...

I thought about this about a year ago.

I bought a e brake assembly out of an old Postal Jeep. (Same as a Humvee as im told). It has a rotory knob on the handle for slack adustment.

Maybe somday Ill put it in, maybe not.

Like efnet said if you got the skills or willingness to try then yah. You will have to go without an ebrake for awhile Im sure unless you have good skills and can get parts in one day after you find out what you need. I cant see why it cant be done. Disassemble your stock setup and see how the cable is set up on stock, then you can junkyard one and see how thats set up. I think the only thing you might get snagged up on is cable lenghts as you will most likely need to shorten your stock cable and reconnect to other handbrake as need be. Im kinda interested in this now as well since you brought it up. Luckily for me most the junkyards in town just went to pick and pull so everything got dirt cheap. Keep us updated then maybe I'll add this to my build list once i start my build thread. Great concept Id say do it regardless.

84-88 Land Cruisers had a lever-type handbrake,if im not mistaken..would be a good donor, but i'm pretty confident i could make just about any one work...most are made to be interchangeable among several models at the factory,so they have a wide range for cable adjustment...the key is the location of end mounts, and fitting compatibility...once it's anchored, the cable length should be irrelevant,as long as it's not too short

dang... that video makes me want to put my extra KA in my 83 toy instead of the 20r.......i hate making major project decisions like this. so would that be like putting a chevy in a ford or vice versa? lol

the other day i saw this on a local 240 website that made me think about it, and now this video makes me think about it some more... all i need is another tranny..
