you can order the manual at the dealers. my local dealer is very patient and loves when i come in for weird stuff for the old trucks. most stuff is unavailable or back ordered but the service manual is the best investment i've made. i can email you a vacuum diagram monday when i can scan it at the office.

well the going sure has been slow on this project. work has been busy which is good, but i finally have a 4 day weekend to spend some time with the truck. i got the inside gutted out today and could not believe what a pain in the butt the wiring harness was. tomorrow i will start the removal of the drivetrain and pull the cab. i didnt realize it until today but the truck is wired for a dual battery system and has two battery trays in the engine compartment. i did manage to crack my windshield removing it, there was some sand in the trim and when i was cutting all i heard was a snap! wtf! here are some pics:

ever seen one of these? this is the switch for the dual battery hook-up. it was installed on the passenger kick panel under the dash

picked up another cab this weekend, its in alot better shape than what i had to work with, just some minor fabrication then it'll be ready for the body work. the old jet ski trailer worked great for hauling it back from tampa plus its gonna make it really easy to move around.

pretty much. there is one small hole from the leaking clutch master and a 1'x1' section to replace on the passenger side. by the way corey, i found another bed with some perfect tail light buckets so i wont be needing the glass ones. thanks so much tho. im sure i'll come across some stuff im going to need from you guys. any new updates on the trekker? the guy i bought the 83 bed from has an 83 trailblazer. not as cool as your trekker but still something i've never seen on the road.

finally got my mirrors i've been wanting. cool part is, they are hooked to the 83 truck i bought a few weeks ago(with clean title). also got the early 22r block to put my 20r head on, tilt column, brake master and booster, wiper arms, coolant and washer resevoirs, and a dome lite lens there is enough sheet metal here for me to finish my 81 and then some. also scored some more interior parts for me to stash in the garage. hoping to build a trekker with whats left of this one when the 81 is done. btw, the wife is not happy.

media blasting is completely finished along with primer. por15'd the inside rails. had a patch to do on the inside rail near the fuel tank area, cut out the rot and welded (i use that term loosely), a new section in. i had all the welding/patching done last night and it was ready for finish coat. i had considered painting the frame but then thought, i'd be pretty pissed off if i chipped it on the reassembly. then considered sending the frame to the powder coat dude down the road, but he wanted an arm and a leg. so i went with 3m undercoating right over the primer. i have used this stuff on all my 4 wheelers and even a couple boat trailers we have taken to the salt water and it has held up very well. so here is the finished product. still waiting for my bushing set to come in. but now i can hopefully start the cab floor and other misc body repair/replacements. here's the pics:
