I second ddm. I have 3 of there kits and over the last 3years not a problem. Great customer service and great quality.
Ddm is the best. They sent me bad ballast and two days later new one comes in. Very pleased with their service,
found this about DDM just now on hidplanet.com looks like they are getting out of the HID business and they might be scamming..if you change your mind about DDM i would buy some morimoto HIDs from theretrofitsource.com...much better quality than DDM DDM Tuning stepping away from the HID business Apexcone - Its been 10 years. Now what? - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum DDM Scam? - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum
I am new to this HID headlight stuff. I am very interested, what would I need to put some in my toyota? a Kit? what kind of kit?
HID's Which of these housing from DDMtuning will install without any modifing my 86 Toyota, H6054 Conversion Halogen Lamp (Pair) or 4656 Conversion Halogen Lamp (Pair) I know the bulbs will be seperate I like the 6000-8000K spectrum the best
you would be better off buying the autopals from ebay..those 4656 are sealed beam, i dont see the h6054 but they are also sealed beam here are the autopals, many people love the output on these, very similar to Hellas clear http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/200m...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories flutted lens http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/86-8...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories and if you want output from your HID bulbs vs color 4300-5000k is the best
if you want to do it right and get the most from your HIDs do a retro like i just did, there is no comparison if you've had both which i have but you can buy just about any H4 kit you want and throw it in your headlights, but your lamps must be able to take a H4 bulb, so in other words if you have to replace the whole headlight when one goes out you need to buy some H4 conversion lamps, that allow you to change the bulb instead of the whole lamp. Like the ones i posted above if you want to try and tackle a retrofit let me know and i'll be glad to help you out..i still have to get some night shots so you can see the output of these things
Joey I am in. I need an idea of what I would need as a kit. I saw some of your write up on it and I think I got enough from it to do the retro I just need to know what I need to buy.
I really like the headlight look on this truck. They are Lexus 300 headlight but i like the projector look with the black background. 1996 Toyota Tacoma Fbi Suspensions Photo 8
sad to hear they dont sell the slim hid kit, their awesome... whats with led headlight bulb? anyone tried them?
there is no bulb currently on the market that is worth buying yet. OEM manufacturers are barely coming out with LED headlights, wait a couple years and i'm sure the aftermarket will catch up..stick with HID or a good halogen bulb for now
So there is a catch 22 to do this conversion for my truck. I have the 4runner head lights and replacement basic headlights are more expensive then doing the HID conversion for a Toyota pickup.
Chelu check HID Conversion Kit, HALO HID Lights, LED Tail Lights, and many more auto accessories.... A bit pricey but quality kits. I know a couple of guys who bought from them and haven't had any problems in over 4 years.
No the head lights are bulbs. I just know that the lights are much bigger then the basic pickup front end
