Anyone have a place to buy the 4wd bed flares? i would prefer to not make them so i can keep it simple on the body.. but no luck on ebay, craigslist, google, 4x4 site..

    Thanks, Ben

edit: i sent an e-mail to toyotafiberglass.com to see if they have or can make a flare from one of their molds, in either a mold-on or bolt on application. i will post if i get a reply

What kind of flare are you looking for? Like how the 4wd beds look, bulging out? Those are stock beds. If thats the wrong one, try post up a pic so everyone understands.

I believe he wants the stock flares that came on the 76-83 4x4s. They were plastic and not part of the body if I remember correctly.

Yes, they are plastic and bolt on.

The beds are slightly different between 4 and 2wd (the bolt holes to mount em, and a different wheel well shape). I made it work

Your going to have to find a 79-83 4wd at the junkyards. I havnt seen any aftermarket ones.

correct,i was talking about the rubbery-plastic stock ones on 4wd beds, the toyotafiberglass guy said he has a stock set, but hasn't made any fiberglass ones yet, but he wants to keep them in case he needs to... so hopefully he will make them someday (would be convenient and they have fair prices). thanks for the CL ad, but it's 85 and different than 79-83 4wd ones. The toyota yard looks good, i will have to see if my relatives in CA would be willing to go pick up some parts for me!!! I don't know how far away it is with LA traffic..

wow, at least there are some for sale! but i am a frugal SOB. lol. at least i have a good set on my 4wd for reference

the toyota junk yard in cali said they didn't have any either.

i'll just have to wait for a random CL part out or end up making some. i was hoping someone made an aftermarket one.

yea, me too. lol, my 2wd i got for 400 in running, driving good condition.(unfortunately blew it up last year and has been in time out until now, when i found a 20r and auto for it) and just traded a set of tires and 75$ for a 4wd cab and frame to put on it.

what sucks is when i got the cab/frame from i said i didn't want the bed because it was all rusted out, so he was going to take it off. the day before i went to pick it up i remembered to ask about the flares and he sold them the night before!! :brickknock:

my toyota trailblazer was like 2500 though.. :-/ lol
