So i dropped the ugly vinyl headliner in an xcab and i need some sort of idea of how/what to put back up that can be wrapped in a fabric to match the rest of my interior. Is there a model that is similar to a xcab that has a reg headliner that can be made to fit in and covered?? or do i just need to find a flexible material to throw back in there and cover that???
i had my done in blue tweed, back when tweed was in lol, i'm pretty sure they just covered up the vinyl with the tweed post up some pics of the rest of your interior, i guess suede is always an option these days
dude id say unless that vinyl one was hella shot to just pull the vinyl and recover it with whatever you want. I think it would be super sick for someone to do a full custom fiberglass mold with some crazy design or something in it. Its always legit to cover in fabric to match paint or interior scheme. Whatever you want man sky is the limit. Id say they make some pretty stout cardboard as well as maybe some like 1/4 inch fiber board you can always cut to fit.
Preciate it.. I dont know what im going to do. lol. I like the idea of the fiberglass. i tore the mess outta that vinyl getting it out. I really just want to find a headliner from a taco and re cover it and put it in..
if you manage to find one from a taco could you pm me and let me know how it goes. i'm wanting to replace my vinyl just because it's torn in a couple spots from the past owner and i have now idea what to do to change it out cleanly
I tried wrapping my vinyl headliner with black headliner material and it didn't last a week before it fell... I even cleaned it thoroughly and used the same glue the interior shop uses. Then I had the local interior shop sew me up a black suede headliner for $100. I have a single cab and I got a local business hookup, but it shouldn't be any more then $200 for a suede extended cab headliner at any interior shop, installation obviously not included. I would take a pic, but I don't have a good camera so the suede just looks black. make sure you keep your old ripped up headliner for a template.
