i did a long time ago, then just realized it is a waste of money, my engine is not high performance or anything and i dont think the minimal benefits is worth the money on my truck, regular ol valvoline 10w30 works just fine and is recommended by manufacturer

I use Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30. Truck used to have Mobil 1 10W-30.

I only used Pennzoil Platinum because its quality is higher.

Hmmmmmm........... Yes. I've found that since working with older cars, synthetic oils help maintain the engine with less wear and tear. Also goes for transmissions, rearends. Synthetic oils were originally made for aircraft jet engines because the oil handled extreme cold and heat better than mineral oil, and the ability to reduce friction.

I use synthetics in most of my cars. In my 94 toy I def use it as it's just a baby with only 35,000 miles. From the point of view of cost....I have only put 2000 miles on it in the last 2 years. Changing oils once a year makes the cost really a moot point.

I use synthetic oils in all my cars as well. They all get driven hard.

Yeah, the cost difference argument doesn't work out. You can go three to five times as long between changes with the synthetics. Plus it protects better against thermal breakdown and cold starts.

I use it in both vehicles now.

Just got some mt-90 the other day, not in yet, hafta do the shifter seat and bushing. but syn is good without any oil leaks, but, if there are leaks it just rust proofs parts anyway lol.
the syn idea is excellent in most apps.
With a high quality big oil filter and syn, the oci is a long one and it stays clean with a high quality air filter.
New fuel filter and pcv valve helps too. Tried a set of all Napa Gold filters and went 6k and the oil was still gold, I was amazed.
This next oc I would like to test Castrol Edge 5-30, a Napa 1515 gold oil filter, and a Gold air.

we run amsoil synthetics in all of our company trucks. oil, rear end trans etc since new. they are all 2004 model chevy 2500hd. we change oil every 10k. lowest mileage truck has 308,000 miles and pulls as strong as it was when new. (and these are tow trucks) no failed engine or drivetrain parts :)
