yea, you can splice in the correct type of connector. it dont matter what you use so long as it fits the terminal.
Dude, you are the man. I will double check the voltage tomorrow to make sure it is working. I will also tape down the wire to the tach after I stuff the 1/2 inch wire in there. And I will double check the connection at the coil. Finally, I have to swap in the oil gauge and all will be done. So I have the SR5 instrument cluster, the seats, the grill and the steering wheel. I have the console as well but my base truck doesnt have the mounting brackets so I think I will sell it. Again, thanks!
for the voltage gauge nothing has to be done. when you turn your ignition to on (engine off) does it read just past half way? it should be somewhere around the 12-13V mark. mine also hovers right around the top notch mark when the motor is running. all its doing is taking the voltage reading in your system so unless you have a huge drain or voltage fluctuation it should not really move or fluctuate at all. reason behind the bend in that wire is to keep the wire in place and in good contact. you can also tape the wire down to the rest of the harness so it dont have the opportunity to wiggle free later. if its still sluggish you may want to check your connection at the coil plug in and make sure the connection point is clean.
