Go for it then but I see your truck being down for a long time.....

If it was me I would fix the 22re or buy a brand new engine for 2k, swap that in. Then ask your mom to help you out with college.....

Have you ever pulled an engine before? Done any sort of repairs to your truck?

Oh and where did you get the 8" rearend from?

college is covered if I decide to go mom gets 75% off tuition for me working for the government and floride bright futures covers 75% and all I need is a 3.0 which I have. I think it would be a waste of money to drop 2k into a motor I want to scrap. The 22r is not a power monster and is extremley expensive to get it there but the 2jz stock will be the same as a built 22r and I will have room to go a lot higher if I wanted.

man i feel special:D , the way i've done swaps is pull the old motor, use a cherry picker to hold the new motor and tranny in place, then center it left to right between the rails and start fabbing the mounts. i usually make the plate that bolts to the new motor first and have them on the motor, then use heavy card stock (poster board) until i get the right shape then transfer it to steel. i think if you go to a shop to have it done you'll have to spend more than $400. my work charges $80 an hour for fab work plus materials so it adds up quickly. the swap will cost some dough and take some time, but you know you want the 2jz, so do it. i was a little worried on the first swap i did but once you get going you will figure all the little details out.

if the eng will bolt to your tranny why get a drive shaft?

if you already have a uncut harness, why is wiring difficult?

sounds like all you need is a starter, eng mounts, new exhaust and some time.

i would start by pulling your eng (22re) and ALL of the eng wiring + ECU. get the wiring left in the truck to function to run all the accessorys. then piggy back the uncut harness (2jz) into the truck.

just plan on taking time to find and kill bugs. like for every hour you take to get it in, you'll spend as much time or more to get it to work.

    no... you dont.

you need to research this a LOT more.

just because it had a auto tranny doesnt mean you need a new drive shaft.

    for arguments sake:

have you taken measurements of the dimensions of the eng, and where the mounts are?

you sound like your going to try and move the eng back... where? theres no room backwards.

you dont have to use that auto...

    your tranny would work fine...

    research

    research

    research

    and im spent

my tranny on my truck will fit that ???? the website that designed the mounts told me I need a driveshaft since the motor and trans are longer then a stock 22r.
