first off, i just want to say i hope this works out...

now notice that there isnt a intake on the motor on their site
(should be on the drivers side)

now here is a link to a build up thread of a 79 celica with a 2jz and the custom intake he needed to build in order to clear the brake booster.
    http://www.classic-celica.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=13113

2jz swap starts on page 5, the build started life as a 2xr build.

im sure he would share his designs for the intake with you, or maybe even build one for you, but that is a problem that needs to be addressed.

best of luck to you, just remember for every 1 time you swear im gonna swear 4 times when i put one in my celica next winter (not this winter)

Also it is very hard to find a good used R154. Too bad they didn't have an adapter that would go from the JZ's to a Tremec trans.

I paid 250 for it and it came with everything ! from a great running low miles lexus. the guy swaped a twin turbo 1jz jdm motor and kind of ran out of money and cant get it to run right plus he lives with his parents and they are tripping about the 2jz sitting in the driveway under a tarp so he had to get rid of it quick. the bell housing you have which is it ? I heard there are a few different ones I have no idea which i need...

also I know I will have to probably move the brake booster and probably a lot of other things. this is a pretty big motor but it has been done and should be possible. plus the ones already done are TT or turbo.. mines NA so thats a little extra room not needed right there...

you can mate up a W58 to it pretty easy and that tranny was in a ton of celica's and supra's, will handle a NA 2jz no prob.

you also should consult some experts on the xJz series eng over @ www.celicasupra.com and www.clublexus.com

also not having a turbo still doesnt change the size of the intake.

    killer deal either way

If you have a JZ motor it will not work with mine since it is from an M series motor, the 7MGTE. You need the bellhousing off a SC300 with a stick and also I cannot remember what transmissions they put in the N/A cars with a stick. Check out this site: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/index.php

ok well I never payed the guy for it, he told me he would hold it and he did. He gave me a call today saying if I picked it up I could have it, so I made the drive to get it and sure enough here she is !! we did not have a lift so it was man handled by like 9 guys lol... also does anyone know if the tranny mounts are the same for the auto as the 5 speed ??? if so im putting this is asap and swaping out for a 5 speed later. as of now the motor needs little to nothing, just missing a few bolts plastic pieces and vaccum lines.... I will make sure it runs before I drop it in...

also how do i go about changing the intake mani to a side mounting one like this... would it be as simple as just switching them over or what is the difference ? I plan on finding stock twins and putting on it. I really like the look of the 2jz in this pic with the valve cover like that but mine has the intake going over it.... what do i do to switch it ? im affraid the intake will go through my hood !
