Good point....I assume everyone spending all this time and money on their truck has full coverage. I have full coverage on all 5 of my cars.

Cost of full coverage vs cost to replace truck. Even with full coverage your ins co can choose to total your truck( not the case here of coarse) then you've paid high premium and your not going to get but black book value for truck.

I have a rider on my truck and always will on anything like that. I don't drive my truck daily...I have put 300 miles on it in the last year. My daily drivers just get reg full coverage. I own all my cars outright.

Dude that SUCKS. Funny thing is I almost got hammered by a full sheet of plywood on the freeway today. Must have been in the back of someone's truck and fell out. A bigrig ran over it and it went flying up in the air right in front of me.... swerved really fast and missed it, but it almost tagged my brand new 2 week old xB. Nice Holy s**t moment!!!!

Dude, get at least enough out of that chick to replace your "impossible to find" parts, no matter what it costs. Of course she has no insurance... that sucks.

    Here's my opinion:

You need to see if you have underinsured/uncovered protection. I think you can still get this with liability type insurances, and it has never been that expensive for me.

If you don't, you'll likely have to sue her for damages. Your impending court case is most likely for criminal charges against her, and you are unlikely to see anything out of it other than watching her get a slap on the wrist.

Doesnt matter what kind of insurance you have. If they deem its her fault, then her insurance will cover all costs. Actually you said she dont have insurance. Find out where she lives, make life hell for her and carry on your merry way.

a lot of that depends on the state and/or country you are in.

For instance my state (Wisconsin) is as follows:

"Wisconsin is what is known as an “add-on” state. In add-on states, drivers receive compensation from their own insurance company as they do in no-fault states, but there are no restrictions on lawsuits, like in tort states. This means you can get quick medical treatment when some cheese-for-brains runs you off the road and into the lake AND, then you can turn around and sue the cheese off his crackers for ruining your car."

Check out your local laws on auto insurance...Wisconsin is not the only state like this, there are even some that are "no fault" states where your ins company covers everything regardless of fault and you _can't_ under the law go after the person whos fault it is/was.

Yeah I plan on dropping in some raceland coil overs when the funds come in. Anyone else here have a Mk1? Yeah I know it sits high but that's how I got it. With 52MPG I cant complain!

Ok, last sunday was a looong day for me....

Ricky got us into open track day, because he is a UTI student. Made a few runs.

I guess that I still have some kinks to work out. Because I ran the same time I did before the headwork.

(But I now run a w58, (with long gears) a stock exhaust system, and spun the snot out if the tires.)

My fastest time. I got 4 runs in
    [IMG]

    I let Ricky drive.
He did really well, for #1 track run. (sorry for the shatty vid)

Drove it home and the charge light came on. Then noticed it was running hot. Found a tossed belt. Roadside fix and its ok.

Racing finally destroyed my trans mount. Now it clunks and makes noises.

Some lady backed into my celica when it was parked out front of my house. I moved it to get my mustang out of the driveway. She backed into it right in front of me. Folded a fender in a tiny bit, I fixed it immediatly. 40 seconds after she hit a cop rolled by and told her to move her car. I didnt make a scene and told her not to worry about it.

Pulled my moostang to the shop (couple blocks), I didnt double check Ricky's tow strap and bent the shat out of the core support/bumper support. Now the front cover is smashed inside out.:mad:

But, my rebuilt trans works properly (HUGE relief cuz now it has O.D.) after we put it in.

I used my truck to pull Rickys Ah-zuzu to his house. Was fun leaving a light, and lighting up the tires in smoke.

Oh yea and 2 bulbs burnt out on sunday also. A brake light, and a plate light.

Man I need to go to church or something!
