ok so my standard cab, 2wd, 86 yota came with a mirror on the driver side but not the passenger side, was this a standard on all the 84-88's? was the passenger side a factory option? Just curious i have seen it both ways.
my 88 came with drivers side mirror only and a 4 SPEED. didnt even realize it til i got on the highway. also had a pine 2x4for a rear bumper
mine had the 4 speed transmission also, i don't know my toyota facts, like i do my other cars that i'm into, but i think the 5 speed was an option, at least maybe on the 4x4 models, not sure.
mirror also with the single mirror option and the 4spd..i love it on the highway though..most people just stare as i go by 80 mph and rapped out lol..i have 4 inch round and 8 inch long straight through resonator and a turn down.
I also had only the driver side mirror on my 93 pickup. I dont know if it is standard or not but I am going to leave it that way. I like it
Its fairly common for the 2wd base models to have a lack of a second door mirror. Since the law in most states requires just a driver door and either a center or opposite door, they weren't always included. My old 92 was that way too. I have a few sets of mirrors if anybody is on the hunt for a shotgun side. As for the trans, some had 4 speeds and some had 5 speeds. 2 and 4wd came both ways. SR5 packages almost always have the 5, since its part of the option package. But many of the base models were optioned out with them as well. I've seen 5 speeds come standard back to the first gen hiluxs. So its just sort of a crap shoot. lol.
