ok, so the first truck I bought I lost the original and only had 1 left, so I went and made 10 copies... well my third truck, I lost both originals too.. they are possibly somewhere in my house but after an hour or so I gave up.. called the dealer and got to talking for a few and heres what I came up to..

go to the dealer, with title and photo i.d. and they will make me a new key for $8.50 SWEEETTT.. well hmmm walmart keys are only $1.77 and since the 8.50 is the price of the key that means the cut is free right ?!?! yuppp.. so off to walmart I went, paid $3.79 for 2 keys and went to the dealer with said paperwork, got me some keys for free WITHOUT THE ORIGINAL! so, IF you LOOSE the originals and have no way to get them or are tired of looking for them the dealer WILL cut you keys for free if you bring blanks or 8.50 for their key...of course if you just need copies you can just ge that at walmart, Im mainly talking about if you lost your keys and need new ones..

ALSO If you want the ORIGINAL TOYOTA KEY, they can order those cheaper then the generic copies they sell !!! ONLY $7.76 !!! AWESOMEEEEE.. He told me the key would work for 89 to 95, and did not give me the number for other years..

WALMART number is TR44P and is $1.77

TOYOTA number is 90999-00130 and is $7.76

heres a pic of the walmart key.

    Enjoy fellas.

Nice find. I know for the older 80s trucks they recycled keys so keep any keys you find. The key for our 81 worked for our 85 4runner. I think at that time they only had so many master sets in circulation. Also another good reason to change your ignition and door locks.

Thats preety cool and kinda scary at the same time. Just to think someone with a toy key can get into your truck any time.

yeah no doubt.. but I think the chances of someone near me having it are sort of slim, then that means they would also have to try to steal my truck.. which also makes it slimmer...

I guess its more for the older trucks. Never really tried on the newer ones. Also depends on how used the ignition is in the truck. Lucky for you guys though. Kinda sucks when you live on a island. Never know who might have what key.

my toy collection is a bit slim these days lol..

i cut up my 79 longbed, its running gear now lives under bodybagged's 73 bulletside.

i sold my 79 shortbed to zach (zwalker) he's taking it to korea with him.

4x4 will soon be sold or givin to the father in law depending on my wifes discretion.. :brickknock: lol

i'd love to have a 90's model, but gotta focus on building my lux so i can sell it to this dude in Australia :D

lol, the 79 shortbed was just sitting around collecting dust. zach is gunna bag and body it :D

and the lux won't be sold till it's done for a while. but i have an open offer for it at anytime i plan to sell it. the thing about selling it overseas is they're willing to pay close to the amount invested, where here a bagged truck never sells for 1/2 what it cost to build.
