got some more stuff yesterday. 3m DiNoc vinyl carbon fiber..this stuff looks like the real thing..i'm thinking of putting it on the gauge cluster as pictured..but the place i got it from also has a blue carbon fiber..thinking of getting a sample of that to see what it looks like, dont know which would look better being my truck is blue..what do you guys think?

    Clean truck,
Black would be more realistic, but blue would keep to your scheme.

i have a choice between these two shrouds, probably end up going with the gattling gun style on the left, they fit a lot better(cuz they came with my projectors:D) the ones on the right are off a VW GTI

Finally got a chance to get a little bit of work done on a couple of my projects

    first is my HID retro
I want these to be different, so i was experimenting with adding some running lights inside the headlights so they wouldn't look so plain and like every other pair of 7x6 out there

so this is what i was thinking having about 8 amber leds as running lights, it would be cut out like this and obviously spaced better and drilled better:D
    [IMG]

finally got my LEDs in the mail and mocked it up to get an idea, these are really bright for regular ol 5mm, but they are name brand..Cree FTW!

what do you guys think? should i continue with this? I kinda like it but wanted to get some input, keep in mind the housing will be blue like the pics above and it will have the chrome shroud

Also worked on my gauge cluster a little, this is real close to going in my truck..
as most of you know the 4cyl SR5 cluster is hard to find, so most of us get the V6 cluster, which means your tach will be off..and the adjustment knob is on the inside of the cluster meaning it would be a PITA to adjust it..So simple solution is to de-solder the adjustment knob(pot) and relocate it, so thats what i did, now i can adjust it while the truck is running without pulling my dash apart every time

the white circle thing is the adjustment(pot)

using the de-solder copper braid(in the pic) remove the pot
    [IMG]

get yourself some copper clad prototype board and re-solder it to the small piece of board
    [IMG]

Its important to keep your wires orientated as they were so it still works, obviously:D Solder your wires to the original locations of the circuit board
    [IMG]

Now just solder your wires to their corresponding terminals of the pot on the new circuit board
    [IMG]

Here it is all put back nicely, I just punched a hole to get the wires through..Now i just gotta find a place to mount the pot when i get the new cluster in my truck

you would need to have another tach hooked up to read the RPMs then just turn it with a screwdriver(clockwise, counterclockwise) or with whatever until it matches your reading..

    here is a better pic
