good idea nam but we just dont have the amount of people to do that much, regional forums should probably be left out for now. unless we keep it simple west coast mid east coast...

Agreed, we need to take our time, plan things out a bit. I posted a poll for the name it's here: http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7572

As for the mods I'll throw myself on there along with:

    CinNAMmon
    V8 Titan
    DROPT
    andysmiley17
    ShoNuff
    Dillinja666

On my forum, I'm a donating member and bought stickers, so I got a green name tag. We also have a shoutbox, which is amazing. My name turns up green.

I wonder if we'd like to do things like that.

    Mod/Admins are Red.
    Donating members are Green.
Regular members are a default name color.

and for donating members, they can access a special forum set just for donating members.

A mod sees everything that the donating and regulars can see.
A donating member (or Supremes in TN) can see what the regulars can see, and the special forum, but not what the mods can see, of course.
A regular member is just a regular, can't see the Donating member's special forum.

I think with mods we should all have responsibility in keep certain sections of the forums clean... like spam free and rude comments and such.. like I could be the "for sale mod" nam could run the west coast.. you catch my drift?

Yeah I totally understand the regional section, but the West/Mid/East should be established pretty easily. Over on ToyotaNation, they can assign mods to regions, so if we can get a good establishment of regions in the US, we can assign mods to certain regions. Say me and someone else (dave?) can grab the midwest area.

As for the other continents, I'll be more than glad to help setup regions. If we get a new ACTIVE member from some country, and if they want a section in the regions, they can apply a request, sent to the mods or admins. I think we can set up a special mod thread for general mod/admin discussion. That way we can set up things and etc upon a group choice.

So yeah, if we can have just the West/Mid/East, Canada, and Australia sections in the regional area, that'd be nice.

    I'm a senior still.
Yeah, I've noticed alot of guests viewing this or that when I get to the ToyotaMinis Forum Index.

Yeah, the certain sections can be "assigned" but the mods will have the general responsibility to make sure everything is in a good situation. Course on TN I had a mod from one side of the forum look at the other and sort some issues out.

I think that mods only forum section would help us discuss an issue and how to resolve it. "Hey other mods, we got a problem in this thread of Hilux 4wd, 84-88" and the mods will just discuss it and execute whatever.

hhmmm yes and no.. things like that should be kept to private messages, phone calls, emails and what not...

22r_all_motor, your disqualified from the mod race, you nominated yourself which is against the rules lmao

also nam, I do not understand the point in having regional sections.. seams to add confusion and get info spaced out to different sections which makes searching harder.

Regional boards help organize content by location and I think is a good idea as long as topics are kept regional, helps with local meets and stuff. But in my experience it only works on boards with a very large member list.

thats awesome for a forum with 10,000 members but we have 2600, probably only 300 or less post once a week...right now its just more of a hassle than anything I think.

I mean a mod section that's totally invisible to donating and regular members, but only for mods and only mods.

The regional section isn't meant for trucks, its for the people. Like the guys in cali, arizona, and oregon/washingtion etc can like go in there and chat about events in their area and meetups.
and then you and your east/southcoast guys in florida and georgia can holla at eachother and do the same, ya know? That's the purpose of the regional sections, to allow members to meet up and yadda yadda.

Does anyone else realize that the most popular thread today is a thread about jumping ship??? Is that bad?

Right, I know what it is but I dont see a purpose for it here.. The only person on this forum that I met was Tony (B.Y.E.) and he flew from texas to my home in florida to help me work on my truck, and grounds871? I think.. anyways hes no longer a part of the forum and the people on here who know other in person know how to get in cotact so no need for regional.

Truth indeed. my local forum KSAutoforum.com is KS, but have split it up into different sections of KS.

but if anything, I'll be glad to set it up. It's not going to be too complicated, knowing we have members, either west, mid, east, or in Canada. and then the guys on the islands haha.

    thanks.

also Id like to see a "thanks" button to give credit to helpful posts...

we need to all dig up threads from the past that were about making this site better and re-read all the good info in them...and bring some life into the suggestions. just incase were forgetting something.
