i am currently running 3inch blocks in the back and i have the torsion cranked down 4.5 inches, i plan on doing a bj flip . i have heard of both 4.5 inch blocks and 5 inch blocks but i cant seem to find them , any ideas?
Thanks man! A better setup would be some 3" Belltech leafs and a 1.5" and 2" tapered steel block if that's the exact drop you want. I can build the height you mention no problem. Those leafs with your 3" blocks would look sweet but you'd want a c-notch after you got sick of the bumping. That's what this truck has, Belltech leafs and 3" blocks. He's close to his crossmember above the diff, but thanks to the firm riding leafs he doesn't hit. I looked at his setup the day I notched it. I can do those blocks for you no problem. http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5387
those leafs and a nice set of blocks will get you pretty down low, but that crossmember will get ya. my axle's pumpkin is tapping my crossmember
how low can you go down before the crossmember becomes an issue? would i have clearance issues if i were to drop it 5 inches all around?
That CM above the 3rd member is no more than 1" to 1.5" away on MacRib's truck. He's notched and I thought this would open the door for it to hit, but thanks to his firm riding Belltech leafs he doesn't, I was amazed, he has to be sooo close to hitting it. He would if he had a softer leaf setup. I'd say 6" is about as low as you can before it becomes an issue. This is notched of course. Not notched will have the axle hitting frame before that CM is ever an issue. MacRib has 3" blocks and Belltech leafs. Pictured is a cross member I offer for the Taco's that drop to 7" in back. Taco's don't need it at 6", but do at 7", it bolts in on those trucks. At this amount of drop, the one under the rear of the cab becomes an issue also. (last 2 pics)
