man i dont know ........ i removed a lot of isht from my last car , which was a gti vr6 ..... id like to know too . ....... im sure all the emissions stuff for starters .. then you can redo coolant lines ... then you can start thinkin wires and battery .....
So we can just disconnect them and it will be fine? Im doing my timing chain right now, so if i dont need any of them i wont be putting any back. Anyone know?
Nam, we've been through this already, you even posted in the thread... Look here man. I re-installed the AC kickup, but never posted a pic. I just tucked in under the intake manifold with the rest of the wiring harness that lives there.
the power steering idle-up (if you have it) is up to you. My cressida doesn't need it but it's torquey enough to handle with the PS at idle, I don't know how much the 22re likes it. EGR you can remove but it's debatable how much good it'll do (depends on if the tubes are carboned up or not) it helps prevent detonation/pinging but it dirties up the intake. evap/charcoal canister you can remove but it's not hurting anything. PCV you could, but it's better to run a catch can then to the intake so you still get some vacuum but you don't send all the crud into the intake.
i done an engine swap in my last vehicle, a 1986 mazda 626. i think they are also known as telstars, same engine anyway. so i done the swap, but could not figure out a few vacumn hoses. and, well, it idled high and rough, and if i disconnected some, it wasnt as high but still high. even when i adusted idle and all that crap. so, maybe disconnecting vacumn hoses affects idle?
I disconnected a bunch of mines and a week later my engine died. Dunno if it was related to that or not, but i should have just not touched it.
ive got none. yes, none on my motor and it runs great. i have the booster hose but i need that so i can stop. vaccum lines dont effect idle, engine life, nada. Vaccum leaks do, if you run too lean you will burn up a motor, and it will cause your idle to increase.
Nah i know what you mean. It was just the last thing i did before my engine crapped so im like damn, maybe i shouldnt have did that. And yeah nam i capped all the lines.
either run them back to each other in pairs or most auto stores have assorted vacuum caps available. My cressida was nice cause I could just use a 7mgte TB with only 1 vacuum line.
