Since I cant post a build thread on my truck since Im not doing anything at the moment thought I would do one on the switch box Im making for my truck.

Starting life off as a impala hopper 1/24 scale model car that actually hops.

took body off and bottom plate off

Im going to put this model body on it cause it looks exactly like my truck cept the bed shell. This is gonna require a lot of extra work as my end result is to have a switch box that hops that also makes my truck hop while looking like my truck. Some may think what a waste but I think its gonna be sick.

Ok so more progress. Mocked the body of the truck up real quick for an overall view

Set cab on hopper frame mocked with rims

made sure the juice still worked to lift it with cab on

decided i had enough room so I body dropped the cab

next I need to mock the bed and everything up and cut bed floor out to fit over hopper motor. I realized the headlights/tail lights of the impala line up with the lights on the toyota so I can use them and have real working lights on this as well. Also have to build the engine and install it. Need to make a custom metal plate to fit roof top for the switches and start pulling apart my spare switch box. Might have to cut and shorten rear of impala frame so bed fits nicely and cut the hopper arms for rear as well and install the wheels.

So due to the fact i didnt know if I was keeping Red I put this on the back burner. Now I got red laying on the ground again I guess I need to finish this thing. I dont think Im gonna use it for my switch box anymore but I will hide my valve and use it for my Train Horns hahahahah, maybe even give it a little horn or something dumb.

I did BD on the mock up but couldnt get it to adhere to frame so did it this way. Im gonna make a few shims so I can glue them to frame and be able to glue body to the shims in a vertical stance.

Its still cool, I like it.
