I got gas today in my truck, the gauge read about 1/8 of a tank. I filled it up and it only took 10.5 gallons. What size tanks do these trucks have? I remember by '88 having a 16 gallon tank and my Tacoma was like 17? I can't see these old trucks only having 12 gallon tanks.... do they? That would suck for range.... even at 25mpg that's only 300 miles. That would be nuts.

anybody know? I found a couple things on the web, and no one seems to agree... there's a Wikianswers post that has everything from 14-20 gallons!!!! LOL!!

Couldn't find any posts with it, maybe I'm using the wrong search terms:

    gas tank
    fuel capacity
    capacity

help? Sorry, I did do a search before I asked!

Oh, and I have a shortbed. They have different tanks right?

If you look on toyotarefernce.com under your year, there are two versions. The short/standard bed is a 13.5 gal tank. The long beds have a 16 gl tank. So, you should have the 13.5 i assume.

yea that's nuts... my old 240z had a bigger tank.... My Silverado has a 24 gallon tank... I'm just amazed it's not at least 16, the other Toyota pickups I've had had 16 gallon tanks... but the oldest one I had before this was an '88 so that might explain it.
