why do you "need" that specific one? i have the farthest to the right one ( or the one next to that, i havnt been under it in a while ) and it fits with my bench seat...i just had to cut the hole bigger and then patch the old spot..

I swapped tailshafts form an aluminum center section w58 (1st in pic) on to my steel center trans (not pictured but, has linkaged style shifter). Apparently there are some internal differences, so I had to keep the original actuator rod and it moved the shifter point back a bit....

I didn't wanna mess with cutting a hole because I need my bench seat....

    V8- let me know...

ok... well dont make it a deal breaker if you cant find one, its fits with my stock bench and i like it closer like it is now, not as far of a reach. I actually mounted my shifter backwards, so its perfect, with the shifter the right way it was just a little too close.

why not use the linkage piece that sticks into the housing the bolts onto the selector shaft? I've always just swapped that piece with the top housing. AFAIK you have to unbolt it to get the rear half off anyway.

It's hard to tell exactly which one from that tiny pic but I think I've got one of [IMG] just the AL housing, not the bushing or selector. $25 shipped.
